Dolls Ahoy!

@dollsahoy / dollsahoy.tumblr.com

My life with dolls and other things. Thanks to everyone who likes my sewing! She/her, but there're no problems with they/them, either.  Your gender is up to you.  Black Lives Matter. Stop Asian Hate.

If you're here to take issue with something I've said, keep in mind that this is Tumblr, and Tumblr does not propagate edits with existing reblogs, so I may very well have edited, clarified, or even deleted the post due to changing my opinion (or getting tired of the attitudes in the notes, especially in regard to throwaway vent posts that were never intended to be seen outside my mutuals group) since writing whatever you saw.

I recently refurbished this 1963 Ideal Tammy’s Mother fashion doll, with her original dress and shoes. I recreated her necklace and updo and added new old stock Premier underwear. I hope someone will enjoy her Midcentury charm. https://www.ebay.com/itm/275882142596?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=bbspzw4lRWW&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=bbspzw4lRWW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY #idealdolls #ideal #fashiondoll #midcenturydolls #tammydollfamily #tammydolls #tammydoll #tammydollstagram #vintagedoll #vintagedolls #dolls #dollstagram

Husband: I watched a video where someone was talking about an episode of Star Trek Voyager--

Me: The one with the lizards?

Husband: YEAH

Me: Yeah, that's considered, like, the worst Star Trek episode ever. The anniversary of its first airing is a holiday on Tumblr.

When we talk about Stonewall this month, let's not forget to talk about how the entire thing was sparked by the arrest of a butch transmasculine lesbian- Stormé DeLarverie, a mixed drag king, who fought back against the cop who was violently arresting her for crossdressing.

Drag queens and trans women deserve recognition for their role in the Stonewall uprisings, and so do butches & transmascs. We all fought for each other.

Also remember, these are Delaverie's own words about the Stonewall Rebellion:

"It was a rebellion, it was an uprising, it was a civil rights disobedience – it wasn't no damn riot."

so much for getting the heck off my page

funny thing about goofball devils saying 'so much for the tolerant left' is idea that i was ever tolerant of them in first place. bud i am NOT tolerant of fascist racist bigots and never have been. if you are into that stuff then dont buy my books and get the heck off my page

Today's advice from your Goth Auntie

  • Stop slouching, drink some water, take your meds.
  • Stick your arms out at your sides, do 10 rotations each direction. Oooh, crunchy!
  • Bitey Friend keeps staring at the shed in the back yard, but won't say why.

It would be nice to not be constantly struggling financially someday! The most helpful things you could do to get me closer to that dream, FOR FREE(!!!), would be to follow my twitch and youtube channels and reblog this post! <3

that discord post from march about their ai stuff is going around again and it's annoying me. the new voice recording things are recorded and saved to discord's servers so they can. y'know. be uploaded. and listened to by the people you send them to. just like the images and videos and other files you have been uploading

their ai stuff is just the chat bots and auto mods. you're Fine.

that said tho. still turn off the "share data with discord" thing. but yeah it really is Not that bad

I spent some time playing with craft gems yesterday

I cut ovals of paper to fit a 28mm x 39mm setting, covered the paper ovals with double stick tape, then stuck everything down. I did put double stick tape on the backs of some things to get them to stick on top of other things. Then I sealed it all together with acrylic craft sealant/varnish.

(only after editing this picture did I remember I have a few tiny marquise cut rhinestones, and I could add one as a stinger to make the bug more bee-like)

I'll add a thicker underlayer, then make molds of these to cast with resin (hypothetically.) (That's why I added the glitter, so there would be texture in a single-color resin casting.) I'm sure I'll make more of these, too. Maybe I'll actually sit in a chair at a table then, instead of hunching over everything spread on the floor, with random boxes used as work surfaces.

I made a few more, remembered we had some matte spray sealer, and rolled out some Aves Apoxy to bulk up the bases (I need to fill and sand the edges still)

I dunno why I want these to be frosted, but I do, and I'm very happy with how they look.

the one with the heart flower is my favorite. I like them frosted! looks fancy!

Thanks!

I keep envisioning vintage costume jewelry with large frosted pressed glass "stones", and also some influence from vintage kids' plastic dress up jewelry --I have no idea if I can actually make resin castings from these that fit the style, but I'm gonna try!

(oh, and, I did not hunch over on the floor to make the last three of these--I stood at a work surface)

OK, Tumblr, what are you doing that's making userpics be blank boxes beside the posts, but show up within the posts, except when the pic within the post belongs to someone I'm following whose userpic has already been not-displayed as a blank box
