CAPTAIN JOHN FRANKLIN'S LOST EXPEDITION

you know everyone talks about collins' "hey, don't be sad. have you tried cocaine?" scene but one of my all time favorite terror (2018) scenes is when collins randomly asks if stanley's daughter loves birds after seeing a sketch he'd done of her and his wife, but there are no birds on the paper??? and then later dave k told fans that there WAS meant to be a bird on the paper but then no one on set could draw a bird. and they just. didn't change the dialogue. it makes collins look like a slightly manic but well-meaning bird enthusiast

i recall that there had been a bird drawing but dave k said that it looked too freaky, he couldn't even describe it properly it was just ghastly and completely unusable and not something that stanley would draw, clearly a case of miscomm between his instructions and the props department (one among many, including the childish looking pirate maps), so ultimately he just nixed that shot but couldn't change the script as the scene had already been filmed

I've been thinking about it and I don't know whether or not Blanky would be down to eat people on the Franklin expedition but I'm sure he was down to eat John Ross in 1832. He wouldn't even need to be starving he'd just need a speck of plausible deniability and he'd be roasting that man over a fire out of spite alone
