The Celestial Toymaker in colour
Peter Purves: Jackie runs a voice over agency in the West End. I thought she was smashing. She was very fresh, very bright and she was good fun to work with. I don’t have any bad memories about Jackie at all. It was nice to work with her.
Peter Purves about Jackie Lane (From the Gunfighters commentary)
I can really imagine Steven doing this in the gunfighters. Both of their outfits were horrible to draw, I’m pretty sure that I’ve got Steven’s trousers wrong and I have no idea what Dodo’s shoes are meant to look like. I also doubt that I’ll be able to find any colourised photos of this episode.
The Gunfighters:
The Doctor becomes embroiled in the gunfight at the OK Corrall, when he is mistaken for Doc Holliday.
HOLLIDAY: Then I promise on my oath as a gentleman of Georgia that I will take you back to Tombstone by nightfall. DODO: Oh, thank goodness for that. (Doc takes the gun.) DODO: Would you mind getting me a glass of water? HOLLIDAY: Yeah, sure. DODO: I feel rather faint.
The War Machines:
Super-computer WOTAN intends to take over from humanity as master of Earth.
The Gunfighters - … you can’t walk into the middle of a Western town and say you’ve come from outer space! Good gracious me. We’d all be arrested on a vagrancy charge.

The Doctor and Dodo in The Ark
Our favorite moments from the Classic Who serial The Ark. Tune in next week to The Watch-A-Thon of Rassilon and listen to us talk about them.

The French Classic Who group on Facebook asked us to create some unexpected teams of classic Doctors and companions, so I drew a sequel to that drawing from a while ago where Dodo meets Eight. The poor Steven Taylor can’t deal with the twice-human enthusiasm and all the non sequiturs.
Interesting. Love that Dodo thinks that the Refusians must be involved. There’s a lot of invisibility around this time of the programme isn’t there? Also yay for iconic outfits for Steven and Dodo. Peter Purves hated that jumper but can’t imagine him wearing anything else for this now and after some of Pete’s dodgy Blue Peter outfits, not sure he can really judge Steven’s sense of fashion lol.
Didn’t remember there being an actual line of dialogue about her mother dying.
Steven and Dodo are shown around the city but Dodo is suspicious of their guides and wonders what they’re hiding. Steven’s more worried about making sure Dodo doesn’t get into trouble. It’s a shame this story is missing, because we feel its a good one for Dodo and we like that her tendency to wander off and do her own thing is actually what really gets the story moving as its she who discovers what the elders are up to first. We really love Steven and Dodo as a duo too, so different from each other but such an interesting relationship.
