I mainly post about: || DOCTOR WHO || STAR TREK ||

I think the reason why I really like Arya is because from the very beginning, she did not only exemplify femininity and gender expression in an unconventional  way, it’s that the core morality of her character is generally on the good side. She saw her family's “servants” and other folks of less societal status still EQUAL to her, as men and boys are equal to her (hint: this is feminism)… Throughout all the seasons, although her persona does evolve into a darker being, her “dark transformation” has generally been guided by her morals from when she was a kid. She sees herself just like everyone else, everyone as equals… the butcher’s boy, Gendry, Jon, etc…. and I think that’s beautiful :)

And I just hate that her character is now described as a traumatized serial killer, with no control over her morals, values, or actions because she is a child… like, nope! She has agency. She made these choices based on who she already was becoming before the whole shenanigan happened with Ned and Cersei.

Arya is literally a self-empowered feminist without the ego or urge to rule over others. Because she doesn’t think she is of higher status than anyone. She refuses that role. That’s strength. That’s feminism.

A.K.A. Dear feminists who only like the image of feminism if it’s a woman exercising her power over others, POWER FEMINISM IS BULLSHIT.

Arya has her standards

Arya in Braavos: Fuck you, I ain't killin' Lady Crane, she's nice.
Arya at the Twins: Little Lady Frey, you didn't help kill my family, so you can go.
Arya with the Lannister troops: *smiles, laughs, enjoys blackberry wine*
Fandom: Arya's gonna kill those guys and steal Ed Sheeran's face!
Me: Oh, Seven Hells.

Now everyone has to like Sandra because she is the symbol of feminism if you don't like her you must be a horrible human being. The show runners have made Arya, Dany, everyone else including our cunning lord Baelish so dumb so they could prop up Sandra. TWOW better be out asap so I no longer have to see this fuckery anymore.

Remember kids, if it’s not pretty and feminine and not wearing a dress and has something other than “inner strength”, it’s not feminist. And the worst thing is that none of those things are bad, it’s the fact that they are the only ones celebrated that turns people off.

Arya Stark: *was a literal nine year old child the first time she was forced to kill in self defense, has watched her family die in front of her, was the one to find her mother's dead body, was forced into the life of a child soldier, kills because she just wants some kind of justice from the people who destroyed her whole life and tore her family apart*
GoT fans: ummm clearly she's an evil psycho and can't be trusted

The idea that to be beautiful means to be good and to be disfigured means to be evil is not new. It’s a really tired, unoriginal trend in the movie industry, and only perpetuates damaging beliefs about individuals with facial differences.

I know this is going to be dismissed as some fucking snowflake nonsense but I work in a paediatric burns unit and the effects of this trope are gut wrenching and so, so damaging.
