Hi, my name is Bee, I’m 23 and a single mom. I suffer from C-PTSD, and my son and I are losing our home.
Yesterday (4/2/2018), my roommates handed me a notice that terminates our housing agreement. My son and I, due to their family issues, need to leave/be gone by the 30th of this month. Prior to moving in on the stated date (10/23/2017), my son and I were homeless for a month after being evicted from our previous home that we shared with my mom and brother. My grandma allowed my mother to move in with her, but my family does not want to help otherwise. We were couch hopping, staying with friends, or my grandma would take my son in and I would have to sleep in the car. We live in the suburbs of Chicago and the winter was very cold.
Currently, we have no place to stay and have bad credit due to my dad, but my mother is trying to use her tax return to pay off some debts so we can find a place to stay by April 30th. That’s where we need your help.
My mom and I both have credit scores in the 500’s and the lowest credit score needed to rent an apartment or townhome is 650. We need to stay in the area for work, and the cheapest townhome we could find is $1,349 a month. In order to get In to the townhome, we need to pay 2 months rent, plus a $70 background check each for both her and I. Below is the townhome cost, and my credit score.
The combined cost of the background check and 2 months rent is $2,838.
Currently, we only have $1,000 and we need to use that to pay off a few bills she has in order to raise her credit score. My mom works 3 jobs And none of them pay very well. My mom is a teacher’s aid for disabled students in an elementary school, she cleans houses, and she works part time at Kohl’s. Due to harassment by my ex, and parenting full time, it has been difficult to find a job. However, I am supposed to start at a childcare place on the 15th for $9/hr from 11 am to 4 pm.
None of these incomes combined will be able to make enough to get into a place on time, so we are coming here to ask for help to raise $3,000. The full $2,838 will be for the home, and the extra $62 will be for emergencies or food, but is not necessary.
Currently, all I have to accept donations is squarecash and PayPal, though I can only provide my PayPal through private message, as it has my legal name attached to it and I need to keep this anonymous as I can.

Hey y’all, I know that you guys don’t know me and all, but I was wondering if you guys can share this GoFundMe for my grandma eye surgery that me and my brother are launching. She has been having headaches and serious problems with her vision. She’s sooo sooo good, she has taken care of us ever since our mom left when we were little. She is so strong and kind, and loving.
I know this might not get far, we just don't know what to do right now. We don’t have insurance or anything and I don’t want her to just suffer through it. There are 60+ active fires happening right now in California, and each of them is being aided by strong winds and dry conditions. As of October 10th, there have been 17 confirmed deaths (expected to increase), up to 3,000 destroyed structures (also to increase), and over 20k evacuees fleeing into neighboring cities. The worst fires are currently burning in Sonoma, Napa, and Solano Counties, with entire cities like Santa Rosa under mandatory curfew and evacuation notices. Everyone in the effected counties is on alert for the moment the winds shift, and they have to leave.
Neighboring cities, like Petaluma, are opening every single door, with people offering beds, businesses offering food and shelter, the community pool offering showers, and every public building an evacuation center. The community as a whole has come together to help aide everyone who’s fleeing what’s being called one of the worst fires in California’s history.
On top of this, the air quality in the Bay Area is at a SEVERE status, with schools closed in an attempt to keep kids indoors. People are being told to stay inside, and to avoid anything that will worsen their exposure to smoke that’s not just wood, but plastic, paint, metal, and more. The power has been out in some places, as well a cell service being impacted due to towers being destroyed. Gas has been cut off to 32 thousand customers as lines are close to the fire.
Since October 8th, people in California have been waking up from a dead sleep to evacuation orders, their neighbors knocking on their doors, the police sounding sirens, and leaving everything. Social media has offered people with resources of where to go, who can help. Being from Sonoma County, I’ve never seen a such a response and have been touched by all of the help I see being given.

Hi! My entire family is from Sonoma County and the surrounding areas. My cousins lost their homes. My uncle is a Santa Rosa firefighter and has been working nonstop since 2am Monday morning. I am one such an individual, and last night I was super pumped to try this concealer. Out of curiosity I read the ingredients and saw something called arachidyl behenate.
Anything with the root “arachi” such as “arachis oil” is probably peanut related. And, sure enough, I did some research and arachidyl behenate is peanut-derived. Which is the story of how I nearly smushed a deadly food allergen into my skin.
There’s a report here from last year that seems to indicate that some food allergens are neutralized when processed for cosmetics, but I’m not sure that applies for peanuts. And at any rate, they did indicate there was still a risk of a reaction if such proteins weren’t processed properly.
Now, I’m gonna say it outright - I’m not one hundred percent sure that a heavily processed peanut-derived chemical such as arachidyl behenate will cause a reaction. I’ve worn a lot of makeup over the years without checking the ingredients, so I could have easily used a product containing it without knowing. Still, better safe than sorry.
Alternate names for peanut products (anything with the prefix “arachi-” should be considered suspect):
beer nuts, earth nuts, goobers, groundnuts, groundnut oil, hypogaeic acid, katchung oil, mandelonas
