Language Of Birthdays; September 23 - Libra

The Day Of The Breakthrough

A recurring theme in the lives of September 23 people is that of breaking through restrictions. The expansive individuals born on this day are not free to develop and unfold their personalities until they have struggled with and overcome either physical or for- mal difficulties. This struggle is usually extremely intense, and in fact goes on even after successive breakthroughs. Indeed life for those born on this day is a series of ongoing challenges which must each be met and conquered. In this respect September 23 people may well be described as spiritual warriors.

The more highly evolved of September 23 people use the fruits of their struggle to benefit all those around them, if only as a living symbol of determination to overcome adversity. Less highly evolved individuals born on this day may get bogged down in personal conflicts (often a result of their substantial egos) in which they succeed in stirring up a lot of trouble but not necessarily yielding positive results. It would be advantageous for them to retire for a while from life's fray, get their heads screwed on straight and put their considerable energy at the service of a worthwhile cause.

September 23 people are capable of moving mountains. Yet there are times when they sink into depressions or low energy periods where they can't seem to summon the feeblest of energy. Certainly there is nothing lazy or slack about those born on this day—it is just that they can't fake enthusiasm and when they don't feel inspired would rather do nothing at all than produce shoddy work.

September 23 people are drawn to happenings of all sorts. Whether they are mentally, emotionally or physically oriented, they are action people, for whom words are only a means to an end. As a matter of course, most September 23 people are not particularly verbal, and communicate what they have to say directly, sometimes with no words at all. For those who do possess the gift of speech, theirs is an elegantly simple, precise and economical style, carrying little excess verbiage.

Those born on this day can be extremely seductive and charming, though many appear forbidding or aloof on first meeting. Others should not, however, make the mistake of thinking that September 23 charm is an invitation to get personally involved, particularly on a sexual level. For the most part September 23 people put their work first and pleasure second. Despite any image they might project, their real friends are very few and they do not value small talk. Often it is better to admire them from a distance than to force an approach. On the other hand, September 23 people themselves should beware of isolating themselves at a deep emotional level and concentrating on universal or worldly concerns to the exclusion of personal matters. In this, they may be neglecting the trees for the forest.

Advice

Those born on September 23 must be very careful with alcohol consumption and the ingestion of drugs (including nicotine and caffeine) in general. Those born on this day are particularly prone to abusing such substances during periods of depression. It is possible that macrobiotic, vegetarian, ovo-lacto or fruitarian diets and fasting can be helpful in purifying the body for brief or extended periods of time. Physical exercise here stimulates appetites and improves circulation. September 23 people must beware of liver, kidney, stomach and intestinal damage from diet or bodily abuse.

  • It will be most important for you to make use of your downtime
  • During such periods you can get in touch with what is working and what holds you back
  • Ready yourself for life's battles beforehand; being prepared is the key

i call my parents and say ‘yeah i can’t do family stuff tonight, i got too much stuff to do for school’ and i e-mail my professor and say ‘i can’t do my assignments tonight, work got crazy’ and i text my boss and say ‘sorry i can’t work late tonight, i gotta some family stuff’ and through this triangulation of deceitful excuses i at last will be free

The best thing for me, as an ex- Starbucks employee, is the horror that genuinely is the milk delivery when it’s only you and one other shift member. Though, I did end up learning how to carry six individual gallons of milk at once.

Also that change from Customer Service ™®© voice back to normal to informal joking-threats is amazing

Yeah the whiplash from “Hi welcome to starbucks how can I help you! :)” to “I’LL FUCK YOUR WIFE” killed me.

MILK.

DELIVERY.

Comments left by Kentaro Miura (author of Berserk) on Young Animal Magazine when he was drawing Berserk and commentaries at the end of the book.

This has been shared before but it is well known that manga authors have brutal schedules they have to work under. So many have died before old age due to health issues.

To quote Junji Ito:

“Sleep is very important. Everyone get enough sleep. Many manga artists die young and it’s because they don’t sleep. Your best ideas will come to you when you’re sleeping. Please everyone get some sleep.”

Remember Manga authors are human beings that deserve better work conditions in their industry.

RIP Master Miura.

Thank you for all the hard work.

[Image ID: a photo with a light blue background. The bottom of the photo reads "The Inaccessibility Cycle." In the background is a simplified person in a wheelchair in a darker blue. A cycle goes around it; the top label is "inaccessibility", beside which is an arrow that points to "Disabled people unable to participate." Beside this is an arrow pointing to "disabled people not visible in public", and beside that is an arrow pointing to "disabled people seen as outlier/rarity". Beside those words is another arrow, which points to "'so there's little/no need to consider them'", quoted as if an abled person were speaking it. Beside those words is one more arrow, pointing back to the "inaccessibility" label first described. /end image ID.]

this is important and i've seen numerous examples of it play out, which is shitty. (also if there's anything i should change about the ID let me know, I've seen posts about making image descriptions but i'm not 100% sure i did it right.)

This could save lives so I thought I’d share!

It’s spooky month and soon be holiday month.

Anyone going to parties and gatherings be safe!

Just to add, if your drink suddenly tastes really salty, PUT IT DOWN! Go to someone you trust and if you start feeling unwell, go to the hospital.

Also, don't let anyone you don't know and trust buy drinks for you. Don't go out alone if you can help it, and always have a designated driver with you!!! <3

Something needs to be done about teachers who hate kids tbh

My sister is currently getting her doctorate in child psychology & education, but years ago she worked as a substitute english teacher at a high school in nyc. She spent half a year subbing for a woman who was out for surgery, and had been teaching english there for years and years. Most of the kids in this class were remedial; they had failed english before and had to retake it. Most of them hated the class, and they hated literature, because they had been made to feel unintelligent. My sister decided to introduce them to poetry, which was a little easier to digest than long form prose, and had them read Robert Frost's "Fire and Ice." And the kids loved it! They connected with it, they were spirited and engaged in class for the first time all year. They wrote their own poetry! They started seeking out and reading poetry on their own! They were all on track to get a C, B or A in that class. And then the original teacher returned and failed every single student, to "teach them all a lesson". That was the moment my sister decided to go into administration so she could hopefully prevent that sort of thing from happening. But it's difficult. Despite numerous complaints from parents and other teachers, that teacher had a job there for decades. She continued to have a job there. There are a lot of teachers like her, wielding power and taking their frustrations out on kids, especially disabled and remedial kids. And students have so few advocates in the classroom.
