@discoursefur-bi

discourse furby babey. seventeen. bi. chronically ill. she/her. discourse sideblog.

I've said it before and I will say it again, bi lesbians are not a thing. A term for all wlw is sapphic, but lesbian is for women only attracted to women, I'm aware and acknowledge that lesbian used to refer to bi women also, but that has since changed, similar to how gay used to mean happy or fun and now means homosexual or otherwise lgbt. Bi lesbian is contradictory and lesphobic, and I've seen many bisexuals say it is also biphobic, which I honestly agree with but as I am not bisexual my opinion on what is and isnt biphobia is irrelevant. Bi women, please stop using lesbian and use sapphic or WLW instead.

broke: being a bi girl and a lesbian are the exact same experiences. everything lesbians go through bi girls go through the exact same. every post about lesbians should include or mention bi girls somehow. bi girls can never be lesbophobic. they have the exact same roles in the wlw community. bi girls can call themselves the d slur. bi girls can use the lesbians exclusive terms, because lesbians and bi girls are the same.

woke: being a lesbian and being a bisexual women are very different experiences, but we have a lot of things in common, that’s why we made the wlw community. wlw posts should be inclusive of all wlw, not just lesbians, but since lesbians and the other wlw are different, we should have spaces to talk about our unique struggles that bi women don’t go through. the same goes for them. we play different roles in the wlw community and in society in general, but we all should ally with each other to make ourselves stronger, but remembering the individuals needs of every group and calling out the lesbophobia/biphobia in our members.

if you only make sapphic/wlw moodboards with photos of skinny, white, cis, half naked women, unfollow me.

if you think butch and femme are juast aesthetics/harmful, patriarchy-reinforcing synonyms for “masculine” and “feminine” and not identities, unfollow me.

if you think putting “no TERFs” in your bio automatically absolves you of transmisogyny, unfollow me.

if you don’t believe all wlw can call themselves butch/femme, unfollow me.

if you force animalistic labels on nonlesbian wlw who call themselves butch/femme, unfollow me.

if you think lesbians are “narrow minded” or “need to meet the right man,” unfollow me.

if you don’t believe all wlw can reclaim the d slur, especially if they’ve had it hurled at them in the streets, unfollow me.

if you don’t support he/him or they/them lesbians, unfollow me.

if you try to gatekeep nonlesbian wlw from sapphic/wlw spaces because “they should center around women who are exclusively attracted to women,” unfollow me.

if you try to exclude lesbian, bi, pan, ply, trans, ace, aro, nb, or intersex wlw from sapphic history, unfollow me.

there’s a lot to unpack, but lets just throw out the whole suitcase.

reblog if you ARE a trans wlw, if you LOVE and SUPPORT trans wlw, if you’re TIRED of TERFS, or if you ENJOY mint chocolate ICE CREAM

Just saw another celebrity coming out following a trend I noticed recently so I want to say something. When you claim that you’re not gay or bi but a Completely Different Sexual Oreintation because you “care about personality and not gender” or because you like “hearts not parts”, what you’re actually saying is: - gay men, lesbians and bisexuals don’t care about personality - gay men, lesbians and bisexuals only care about gender and bodies and genitals and can’t experience deep love and connection - gay men, lesbians and bisexuals are shallow apolitical sex crazed deviants and implicitly often also: - it’s okay for gay, bi and straight people to be grossed out by trans people because you have to be a Special Trans Inclusive Sexual Orientation to like trans people and everyone else gets a free pass at transphobia. So of course mainstream media loves coming outs like that! They’re the worst LGBT-phobic stereotypes confirmed, but this time they’re not only publicly acceptable but even progressive because they’re coming from a “queer” celebrity.

reminder to anyone who follows me and considers themselves a bisexual lesbian: please take a moment to consider why you want to identify as both bisexual and a lesbian when lesbians do not experience any form of attraction to men. it is possible you are dealing with comphet or internalized biphobia. you cannot be bisexual AND identify as a lesbian because it is harmful to actual lesbians who are ONLY attracted to women or women aligned people.

This post includes trans women as women, because they are, so do not misinterpret this as “calling out” cis lesbians who date trans women. This blog supports trans women whole heartedly.

I’ve describe myself as a bisexual lesbian. Since I’m attracted to people of all genders, and i’m attracted to men, but my attraction to men is rare. It’s hard because sometimes I feel like i’m more of an lesbian than bisexual. it’s weird because i’m rarely attracted to men, and originally with the post i was thinking of just strictly going by lesbian, since my attraction to everyone who’s not a man happen’s more, and occurs more. Like out of my list of recent crushes one of them was a cis guy, and  my last partner i had was a trans guy. But outside of that all of my crushes have been on non binary people, and woman. so i don’t know, and then there’s the fact of me being asexual that makes all of this more confusing, and make me not want to think about it. I’ve given up all hope of finding someone in my current town since it feels like i’ve met every type of person here, and i’m just fed up with being here, and the people here, and want a person that reminds me of back home. i just miss the south a lot. i don’t know shit is weird

this is harmful to both the bisexual and lesbian communities. you can’t be a “bisexual lesbian.” you’re a bisexual with a preference towards women. that’s perfectly okay and valid! what’s not okay or valid is using harmful labels like “bisexual lesbian.”

“bisexual lesbian” is an oxymoron and invalidates not only bisexuals and lesbians, but everyone who fought for lesbianism and bisexuality to be accepted and validated.

bisexuality is attraction to more than one gender.

lesbians are women who are SOLELY attracted to other women.

lesbians can acknowledge that men are visually attractive but do not want to be in relationships with them. ever. even if your attraction to men is minuscule/you have a preference for women, you are still not a lesbian. you can say you’re a wlw or sapphic, but you’re not a lesbian.

bisexuality is not 50/50. it can be 99/1 or 80/20. it is completely normal and valid.

also women who are attracted to women but are not lesbians cannot use the d slur.

thanks for listening (or reading i guess).

I’ll tolerate he/him lesbians if it means bi lesbians cease

Having a preference for women doesn’t make you a “Bi lesbian” it makes you fucking Bisexual. Y'all realise that 90% of bisexual people have a preference, right? Stop perpetuating biphobia. It’s disgusting.

Except that it is. The tag is meant for people to find others like them, for support, for answering questions. If you see no problem with flooding the tags with hateful spam and death threats, then you're beyond my understanding. This doesn't just affect the "evil cithets" either, there are LGBT aces who use the tags for the purposes I mentioned. Included me, including a nb kid who says that the hate in those tags makes them want to kill themselves. You think that kid is pathetic?

LGBT ppl: (some of whom are ace themselves) Cisgender heteroromantic asexuals and cisgender aromantic heterosexuals are straight IN ADDITION TO being asexual or aromantic and thus not queer/LGBT. They shouldn’t use the q slur nor should they take advantage of the resources our community provides.

Asexual/Aromantic people do in fact face stigma/prejudice that is unique to them but the LGBT community was built is a coalition of communities brought together by overlaping oppression that is completely separate from what asexuals/aromantic face and have faced historically. Instead of invading safe spaces that keep LGBT people alive, they should focus their efforts on making their own community and providing resources for themselves.

Ace tumblr (after having a collective conniption fit): LOOK AT THESE ACEPHOBES!!1!1#!1 And then…

LGBT ppl: Wow fuck these people -spam tags with easily blockable posts-

You: This makes me suicidal!!!

If being told to stay in your fucking lane makes you suicidal, then you have a grandiose sense of entitlement that you need to work on. Instead of sending guilt-tripping, manipulative asks about killing yourself to someone, why not LISTEN to what LGBT people are saying. LGBT aces are still LGBT and thus have a place in the community. It’s cishet aces and aros that don’t.

But you and others like you are so hellbent on defending straight people that you completely ignore this. Lmk how kissing the asses of my oppressors works out for you.  Actually, don’t. The next time you want to send an ask like this to a suicidal person, fuck off instead you gross creepy s.o.b.

This post still genuinely ends the discourse

This is the Ultimate Receipt to end all receipts

i just,, there’s no way this is real ???? it’s stated in the fucking bisexual manifesto that bisexuality includes attraction to people outside of the gender binary. imagine being so fucking dense and trying to push pansexuality so hard that you just straight up lie about history. things like this are proof that the label pansexual is harmful to bi people.

Allos: *let’s put tits on robots*

Allos: *responsible for furry culture*

Allos: humm aces are oversexualizing our identities :_(

Me, a simple ace: WOW AMAZING o_O

RESPONSIBLE FOR FURRY CULTURE

Me

i personally created furry culture myself. Me

im the robot titties

“Aces are not inherently lgbt” and “aces have a real sexuality that should be respected” are not incompatible statements.

Not being lgbt doesn’t make you not valid. It just makes you not lgbt. That’s it.

If you are l, g, b, or t (or label as pan or nb with fall under b and t) then you are lgbt.

If you are none of these specific things, you are not lgbt but you are still valid.

Pan vs Bi/Bi vs Pan??

Can people put in the notes or message me with their opinion of Pan vs Bi?? I’m currently in the middle with my opinion and want to hear others thoughts. I’m quite new to the community sooo yeah! Feel free to say what you will about the subject

Please someone just tell me if there is a diffenrce even in nuance I’m just getting people saying that people can ID how like they like without telling me anything to letting me form my own conclusions

I don’t mean anything and by the vs I just want to know the difference.

there is no difference, pan is inherently biphobic and is used as a label by people who just wanna feel like they’re being woke bc pan “includes trans people” despite the fact that bi has and always will include trans people.

Ace people “coming out” as ace to their coworkers, their boss, or anyone they dont have a personal relationship with is not revolutionary or brave in any way, in fact it is mostly just weird that you think you need to tell these people about how much or how little you feel sexual attraction. It is never going to be the same as a gay person’s employer finding out about their relationships and it is never going to carry the same consequences, you guys just really wanna feel special.
