So, when labs go to take serology samples, they want to keep the rats as calm and still as possible so nobody gets bit!

Their solution to this?

they even make mouse sized ones

This strongly reminds me of the tubes used to weigh songbirds from mistnetting.

Now these are some interesting restraint techniques…

And to think of how I got yelled at when I shared this chicken restraint photo

I'm only saying this for your sake, but objectively, it's not a smart idea to bring politics into normal hobbies. You might lose supporters of your blog just because of your political stance, and that would be terrible since you're so amazing!! It's only a suggestion, but I really reccomend not bringing politics into anything.

Figure I should pussy this at least once on this blog

I love Trump for offending every snowflake, social justice, viture signaling, dyed hair, jobless, commie scumbag piece of shit, leeching off society, complaining about capitalism on their iPhones because they’re too mentally retarded to realize what a contradiction this is. Fucking weak, crying, confused little anemic twerps, and fat fucking mountain dew guzzling, Cheetos stuffing, perpetual masturbating losers who lack the confidence to look at women in the real world.

lol what are you, a gun cuck? can’t kill a man with your own hands?

one of the most beautiful things about this post is the fact that alt-right nazis are voluntarily outing themselves in the notes trying to defend themselves from the label of gun cuck

Okay so Norway is like such an odd country cause like listen to this

Norwegians consume 9% of all Pepsi max produced

Norwegians eat the second most tacos in the world, just after Mexico

Norwegians drink the second most coffee in the world, just after USA

Norwegians read the second most comic books in the world, just after japan

There are only 5 million people in Norway

we sure this ain't per capita?

i can’t believe i used to think people my age were adults

the older you are reading this post the funnier it is

Not really - after a while it only becomes more pathetic.

you must be a blast at parties

Your body is an incredibly bizarre machine.

“What you see is a myosin protein dragging an endorphin along a filament to the inner part of the brain’s parietal cortex which creates happiness. Happiness. You’re looking at happiness.”

happiness looks like a frickin derp i love it

that's kinesin you sick fucks, and odds are it's carrying waste. It also can't drag anything to the "inner part of the brain's parietal cortex" it's restricted to one cell

This might be my favorite post hahaha

I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD YO BECAUSE DON’T THEY KNOW IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE THERE???

Is no one going to mention that you’re supposed to take bay leaves OUT of food before you serve it :/

“We didn’t used to have all this ADHD and Autism and stuff” I think what you mean is that people used to go undiagnosed and get absolutely no help and were forced to suffer through their life because they had no support or understanding whatsoever but sure, Janice, pretend my generation invented Autism.

My grandfather was legit diagnosed with ADHD at the age of about 80 and he was like “OH”

“we didn’t used to have all this cancer and septicemia and stuff, people just randomly dropped dead because the gods were angry.”

schizophrenia is new, people used to just get actually attacked by real demons

lol some of my co-workers were talking about this re: children’s allergies and i was just like, yeah, because in ye olde days they just DIED

ok almost all of this is totally true! except for the allergies part. There has been an increase in allergies, even within the last 15-20 years. One hypothesis is based on the fact that society is far more hygienic now than in the past, and the lack of exposure to novel antigens is causing the immune system to over-respond when it faces other new (but often benign) antigens

What's the most illegal thing you ever did?

At Stanford there was this Professor who was a total bitch and she taught British Literature, which was cool. Except she taught only her opinions of the books and it didn’t help me as a writer. I went to school to learn new things to improve my craft, not have someone else’s opinions carved onto my forehead.

So anyway, for our final project, she asked us to write a ten page paper on why the color symbolism in Othello was so significant. I did some research and it turned out that she did her entire graduate thesis on this very subject. I was mad. This wasn’t teaching, this was boosting her ego. SO I wrote a ten page essay on why color symbolism in Othello wasn’t significant, satirizing it to the point of no return, saying that her opinion was an opinion and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

SHe failed me, needless to say. So in retaliation, I responded by baking a batch of brownies laced with weed and laxatives and delivered them myself to the professor hours before her big graduation speech. I told her that it was a peace offering, my way of apologizing and asking if I could do anything to fix my grade.

She refused to fix my grade.

In the end, she shit herself on stage.

I didn’t regret it.

No mercy.

holy shit

I'm sorry but in what world is this behaviour appropriate? If you felt that the professor was unfair in her evaluation or assignments then you go to the student advisor's offices. That's why those offices and committees EXIST. And even if there weren't other perfectly acceptable and legal options that would have saved your grade, drugging another human being is horrendously stupid, and horrible

a woman: hi, how are you?

a man: hm. see I wouldn’t have phrased it exactly like that. I might have said “hello” or perhaps “salutations.” but the way you said it is cute though.

i had 83 flashbacks just from reading this lmao why are men like this

The leaking of governmental documents to undermine the presidency.

At least from one point of view.

I’m still mulling over why this fills me with dread

Do you really find the situations comparable?  They’re not trying to sabotage the presidency; they’re trying to subvert sabotage of their agencies, by doing the duty they signed on for.  This is not classified material.  It is the rightful property of the American people.  It does portend darkly, though, I agree.  Kinda looks likes everything is beginning to come apart.

Well, looking at it practically, NASA’s not doing a whole hell of a lot lately. We’re reliant on Russia to get us to and from the ISS and most of the work on new reusable shuttle craft is being done in the private sector. Hell, NASA’s Orion craft isn’t even slated for *testing* until 2023

It’s the same as anything else, if NASA wants more money they need to be doing more than what they’ve been thus far.

Just a few months ago NASA’s engineers published a paper on an operational EM propulsion-less drive that breaks newton’s third law. So if literally discovering something that causes us to consider re-writing the basic laws of physics isn’t good enough for you then idk what is.

And that drive is largely bullshit.

So no, it’s not ‘good enough’ because it’s largely useless.

The popular mechanic article you linked talks about arguments raised by scientists in 2014. Two years before the EM drive paper came out. The next article’s arguments talks about the structure of the paper and it’s fine to have personal critiques of it. But it still passed peer review which is a lot more significant than one guy’s online opinion.

But hey! All scientific ideas require careful scrutiny, you’re right! That’s why the drive is scheduled to be tested in space within the next few months!  (http://www.sciencealert.com/it-s-official-nasa-s-peer-reviewed-em-drive-paper-has-finally-been-published)

Let’s talk more about what NASA has done since their job is far more extensive than a tiny offshoot publishing a paper about the EM drive!

Your original argument is that NASA’s not doing “a whole hell of a lot lately” but the continued exploration of space and humanity’s origin and place in the cosmos is pretty fuckin interesting. No president should have to issue a gag order on the scientific community. The “rogue NASA” account is not leaking important government documents, they’re trying to keep americans up to date on some awesome facts that should be spread, not “alternative facts” under the radioactive cheeto.
