I've long held that one of the interesting things about manic pixie dream girl stories is how after debuting with one authors tend to realize they can cut out the middleman of an everyman protagonist and write about weird women full time, but the Scott Pilgrim cartoon is WILDEST addition to my citations for this so far. They really Garfield Minus Garfielded that man. They hot dead wifed him. They produced the most expensive canon divergence minor character spotlight fanfiction in existence. They eeby deebied him. And it was incredible.

  • Comic Roxie: laughs at Scott for not getting it, then has sex with Ramona causing Scott to enter a depressive spiral
  • Movie Roxie: gets told Ramona being into her was just a phase
  • Anime Roxie: gets an extended fight scene where the narrative acknowledges her feelings as real and important and reconciles with Ramona, then makes out with the nearest hot girl and walks out of the plot on her own accord

Do not try to tell me the movie is the best scenario here

it should deeply disturb all of us (trans or otherwise) that a cis black woman was killed for the suspicion of being trans. That is the world we are living in. Trans women of color are killed every day, and now, cis women of color who are even suspected of being trans are facing the same threat. It's terrifying to think that this just happened and I suspect it won't be the last time. I've heard many a story of cis women being harassed for their "appearing trans", and it's so heartbreaking and infuriating. Please just look out for each other.

Disability rights should extend to people who did that to themselves. To the bloke who got paralysed because he was trying to do a dumb trick on his skateboard, to the person who has diabetes because they ate unhealthily, yes even to those people who got blinded at that NFT convention.

As an on again off again alcoholic who has tried and tried again at recovery, I find myself in a space now where I'm starting to lose my liver function, and I'm now therefore chronically ill. And it sucks, I've tried medication that just exacerbated my mental health issues and I'm signing up for my fourth AOD service. It will always be my fault that I'm chronically ill, but the idea that there are good disabled people and bad disabled people kicks people like me out in the cold.

I think everyone deserves equal opportunity to access disability services, get government pensions, use mobility aids, etc etc, without people going 'actually, you did this to yourself'.

Disability rights NEED to include people who are disabled due to their own actions.

You literally can't properly advocate for rights otherwise. People should not need to suffer needlessly due to mistakes they made.

Nobody should have the power to decide whether or not a disabled person deserves aid, if we allow that in any context we are forming the path for corruption and mistreatment.

I've seen this passed around a few times, and I have one thing to say:

It's online. The book was carefully and wonderfully recreated online by hand. You can find it here. The entire book is this easy.

I was so so lucky to be able to paint Jenny & Madame Vastra, notable sword lesbians, for Magic the Gathering's Doctor Who set. They're partnered cards which I find very cute :)

US people with disabilities in the supplemental security income (SSI) program can't have a penny over $2K in their bank account at any time in order to keep their benefits.

You know this economy. That amount is completely unlivable & makes it hard for people with disability to save for the future or have a safety net for emergencies.

A new bill would raise the max to $10K (or $20K for married couples). It would make a world of difference.

The SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act is in the Senate RIGHT NOW. Contact your elected officials and tell them they must support it!
