National Geographic photographers are metal as fuck

Post-apocalyptic video game where every single NPC is wearing Mad Max style, tits out, leather and chains, piercings in places you didn’t know could be pierced wasteland chic and sporting names like Buzzsaw and Fuckface, but the actual story and gameplay is a pleasant slice-of-life farming sim and never once attempts to explain or justify why its cast of characters is Like That – they just are.

The crops are all referred to in the user interface and dialogue by the names of perfectly ordinary real-world plants, while the graphics are very clearly Not That. At one point an NPC casually mentions needing to spay their carrots. This is not elaborated upon.

One of the ramshackle cottages near the centre of the community is covered inside and out by some unidentifiable fleshy growth, all gnarled pulsing veins and staring inhuman eyes. Their name is Leslie, and they’re a valued member of the community; the closest anyone comes to acknowledging that anything unusual is going on is when you’re asked to donate food for Leslie’s pantry because, you know, they don’t get out of the house much these days, the poor dear.

(Leslie is a potential romantic partner for the player character. Some of the other NPCs will give you the side-eye if you actually pursue them, though – not because they disapprove in principle, but because they’re concerned you may be Taking Advantage.)

This year, on the 31 March, we lost Gilbert Baker, gay artist and creator of the gay pride flag. Today we would celebrate his 66th birthday. Let’s remember him as the wonderful person he was.

i just want to add to this post that the last update made to the official pride flag by Glibert Baker before he passed away was THIS:

the new lavender stripe at the very top was added to represent DIVERSITY and as far as i am aware, was added in retaliation against trump’s presidency. i’ve not seen many people use this version, and it deserves to be known.
