I think the one thing that bodered me the most about DSOD was Kaiba's new attire, removing the necklace with Mokuba's picture was a huge mistake in my opinion. And not because I love Mokuba neccessarily (which I do without a doubt) but bc that was the only part of his attire that screamed the guy had at least some warmth in his heart. You get what I mean??
The freaking necklace is cheesy, cursi and yet suits him perfectly to show that Kaiba, despite being a coldhearted owner of a big ass corporation, had love for someone.
So taking off the necklace felt like a cold move. Not because he was saying 'I dont love my brother anymore' but more of a way of he doesn't have time to show how much he loved someone anymore. I immediately felt there was something wrong with Kaiba the moment I didn't see the necklace, and he shows it! he was obssesed, he was only looking up for a future for him and his obssession and put aside his motivation (HIS WHOLE ASS MOTIVATION FOR LIVING AKA MOKUBA)

The moment Kaiba feels lost he immediately goes back to Mokuba and the promise he made to him when they were kids: create a amusement parks for kids like them. The big reason Kaiba did everything and suffered so much was for Mokuba's future and his dream. I can understand that 'yeah, clinging to someone else and use them as a goal is not healthy and Kaiba should live for himself' but using Mokuba as a goal has taken the best of Kaiba, because the moment you see him without the necklace KAIBA IS COMPLETELY OBSESSED TRYING TO BRING BACK A FUCKING PHARAOH FROM 3000 YEARS AGO. AAAAAAAAA
