I know Elon Musk gets a lot of hate, but--and I say this sincerely--I don't think he gets nearly enough. If we work together, we can make sure he's hated even more.

Why Camp Half-Blood is not in Montauk:

I’ve seen people say a lot that Camp Half-Blood is in Montauk. Well, let me tell you, as someone who live in New York, that it isn’t.

First of all, camp’s address never says it’s in Montauk:

Camp Half-Blood, Half-Blood Hill, Farm Road 3.141

Long Island, New York 11954

And even the Riordan wiki says that the true location is uncertain. But I feel differently.

Montauk is at the very eastern end of Long Island. Long Island. And with the way Long Island is shaped, that would mean that Montauk is much closer to the southern shore.

It is stated in the books that Camp Half-Blood is located at the northern shore of Long Island. If you stand at the beach at CHB and look out across the water, you’ll see the Long Island sound.

With where Montauk is and where the Long Island sound is, it’s physically impossible, by the book’s descriptions, for Camp Half-Blood to be in Montauk.

Red: Montauk

White handwriting: Not L.I.(long island) sound

Cyan: Long Island sound(roughly)

Orange: roughly where camp is probably located(it’s probably located somewhere on the line)

So, as a follow up to this post, I searched up where “Farm Road” is on Long Island, and found this.

So I’d say that’s where camp is.
