“It’s a struggle every single day. Our song, our date spot, our first kiss… I experience it all every single day. Sometimes, I can’t even get out of bed. The nostalgia just hits me so fucking hard.

We were magic.

I can still hear every conversation we ever had. I can still feel every stolen kiss. I can still hear every whispered “I love you.” You told me you would never stop; do you remember that?

I remember your mom telling you that I wasn’t someone you could let go. I remember driving to the football games on Friday nights just so I could possibly watch you play although Coach always benched you. You were pathetic, but I was pathetically in love with you.

I remember you telling me that she was just your friend, and maybe that was true in the moment, but something changed. You pulled away from me and she pulled you closer to her. I always thought she was so beautiful… I thought that you must really love me if you could be friends with her but have me, plain old me, as your girlfriend, your one and only.

But then you kissed her. And left me.

The worst thing is to deal with is the fact that I shouldn’t still feel this way. You packed up and you left me. Scratch that. You left US. I should hate you. I should wish you to the depths of hell, but I can’t.

And I hate myself for it. Everyday.“
