Summary: John was going slowly enough to get a glimpse of the hookers' faces. Some of them looked old and worn, and others looked no more than goddamned kids.
And then his heart gave a lurch in his chest and he nearly slammed on the brakes, remembering at the last moment to ease off so the car wouldn't veer. His hands trembled so badly he had to tighten his fingers on the wheel to keep them steady. He crawled along the curb, then slowed to a stop. The boy that had been standing there came around to the driver's side and leaned over the foggy window, one hand braced on the roof.
"Lookin' for company?”
Comments: 10/10. NOT DESTIEL. Angst, so much angst. John finds out that his about to turn 16 son has been selling himself on the streets to support him and Sam. It’s so angsty but there’s comfort and it ends with them hugging. Best piece of angst ever, under 3k words but made me cry like a baby. It’s from John’s pov, which is rare in these kinds of fics. Whenever fics are from his pov it’s always pervy smut or benevolent father. It’s nice that John has to confront the consequences of his own actions. I love it so much, and I love both John and Dean’s characterization. Pre-series and Cas doesn’t even show up, it doesn’t fit with my blog’s title or url but I still wanna rec it it’s just so amazing.
