sometimes i wonder, is all this worth it? all the lies in the world? all the hatred? "society is fucking up the kids" we are the kids. we are fighting back but it is hard to be child soldiers in this war against society when we are fighting our inner demons brought upon us by the same society we are trying to defeat
happy pride 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
i think some people need to realise the lgbtq+ community isnt the fucking oppression olympics. "ace/aro people arent a part of the community because they havent faced as much oppression and violence as the rest of us!" okay but theyre still queer. they dont experience love and attraction the way straight people do. theyre always welcome at pride, lgbt youth clubs, queer safe spaces etc.
people ALSO need to realise that just because you're queer in some way doesnt mean you get to be hateful to other queer people because you dont understand it/ dont think theyre "queer enough"(?)/ dont think they are actually queer.
gatekeeping and excluding certain groups who come to you for support and comfort makes you just as bad as any other homophobe. but in this case you're just hurting your own community.
DRAG IS NO LONGER BANNED IN TENNESSEE ✨✨
it also made me very sad at one point one of the kids said her dad was being hateful towards drag queens and that he had a very skewed/incorrect view of what a drag queen was and wouldnt listen to her and told her she was “too naive” when she tried to explain
and i replied “if i remember correctly when youre at this age it seems adults will wave off any of your life experiences even if they lack their own because they refuse to see those younger than them as their own people” and EVERY SINGLE KID AT THE TABLE turned and said EXACTLY
and i was like. oh. so i wasnt alone in that. but also. i dont have to BE that. im not doing that. im listening and actually talking to them. i hope that there are older people in their life doing the same.
um. i dont know how to say. please listen to the children in your life. its true sometimes youll know better but, often times they have perspectives we may miss and dismissing them hurts everyone in the end. we have so much we can share and learn together.
Seen on my mum's Facebook timeline.

It’s honestly homophobic that it’s almost Pride Month and I’m still single 🙄
Happy Pride Month to those who only recently discovered their identity.
Happy Pride Month to those who are still exploring their identity.
Happy Pride Month to those who are still in the closet.
Happy Pride Month to those who have been ostracized by the community (aro/aces, bisexuals, transgenders, etc).
you were my moon. my stars. my night sky. my beautiful, beautiful night sky. but you brought upon a darkness that not even the sun could break through. and for that, i will never forgive you.
don’t settle for less
sorry but ur never going to be able to convince me that gender separatism is ever justified. no subgroup of trans people needs to be separated or protected from any other group of trans people simply based on gender identity. one of the biggest issues the trans community has, and has had for decades, is the way we are still not an integrated community. we still manage to separate ourselves by presentation or agab, and that’s just not going to work anymore. the only way to succeed in achieving our liberation is to immerse yourself in every corner of the community and get to know who you’re fighting for. care about experiences outside your own. drive someone to the grocery store. start a book club. stop letting “us vs them” become the norm in every single space.
I'm serious when I say the United States is actively hostile to children. Constant school shootings our leaders refuse to do anything about. Child Protective Services that overwhelmingly do nothing of the sort. No healthcare. Our education system is abysmal. Very few areas in the public that are safe for children to be in. Large swaths of states making gender affirming care for trans kids a felony. Child marriages are legal in a lot of states. Treating kids like property parents have every right to do whatever they want to, to the point where the U.S. is one of the very few countries that refused to ratify the U.N.'s Convention On The Rights Of The Child explicitly on the basis that treating children like people erodes the rights of American parents. And now states are enacting laws that overturn child labor laws like it's the goddamn Victorian Age. And even before those laws were made, it turns out that migrant children have been working in factories for a lot of companies, including the supposedly socially-minded Ben and Jerry's.
As complicated as adult life is, I would never want to be a kid again, with no say or agency in my life and completely helpless to the whims of the adults around me.
to extrapolate on CPS, don't forget all the awful and fucked up shit that the foster care system does to kids and families of color, as well as poor kids and families, especially native kids and families!
Don’t Add Fanfiction To Your Goodreads Shelf
Hi folks, I know some of you like to use Goodreads to track all your reading and don’t want to distinguish between books and fanfiction.
I am, however, begging you not to do this. It is extremely jarring and disconcerting to be a fic author and find your works somewhere in the wild where you did not personally put them. Fics are not books, are not published in the same way as books, and exist in a precarious legal space.
Please don’t attempt to elide the separation that exists between fandom and the world of official publishing.
Well this is much nicer than how I said it 🤣

update to add:
if you are a fic author and you find your fic on Goodreads, you can get it removed!
Here’s how:
- First, you gotta go to Goodreads support Contact Us page. Fill out the form as follows:
- What can we help you with? - Book records: adding or editing
- What device were you using? - this answer doesn’t matter
- Are you reaching out as a publisher, author, neither, or both? - Author
- What does your inquiry relate to? fanfiction recorded as book
- In the main body of the question, include the link(s) to the Goodreads record(s) for your fic(s)
- Hit submit!
- Someone should contact you pretty fast; I got a reply within a couple hours, even though it was a Sunday afternoon. They wanted me to confirm that it was a fanfic and asked me to provide proof of authorship which was kinda weird to answer but I was like “uhhh my tumblr is the same handle as my ao3 does that count?” and that seemed to go over just fine.
- Once they say they’ve deleted the records it should no longer be searchable although for whatever reason the direct links apparently still work. That’s Amazon for ya I guess.
I hope this helps some of my fellow fic authors!
hey guys please reblog this version
I’ve seen multiple people reblogging the original post with tags saying how they have struggled to get their fics taken down off Goodreads & I want folks to know that it IS possible
“forcing people to use the restroom of the sex they were assigned at birth is stupid because it’s going to force trans men into women’s restrooms where they’ll make cis women feel unsafe because they look like men” fucking shut up.
i don’t care. i don’t care about cis women feeling uncomfortable with trans men in “women’s spaces.” i could not care less about cis women’s feelings on the matter.
i care about the transmascs at risk of abuse and assault because of being forced into women’s restrooms. i care about the transmascs and butches and intersex people being put in danger because of these bills. i care about the fact that people who supposedly care about me and my transmasc and butch and intersex siblings are glossing over that cis women are just as capable of violence as anyone else, that we can, and have been, and will be assaulted by them because we’re “stepping out of line.”
i don’t want to hear about us being “safer.” i don’t want to hear about the poor cis women’s feelings, and i especially don’t want to hear it from other transmascs.
you don’t know what you’re talking about. do us both a favor and shut. up.
Especially considering the fact that trans men are about to be banned from using public restrooms at all in the UK, thanks to the proposed alterations to the Equality Act.
You heard that right. Trans men won’t be banned from using the men’s restroom—they will also be banned from using the women’s. Unless there are gender neutral toilets in surplus, this is going to prevent so many men from being able to go out in public. Many disabilities cause excessive urination, people have to pee on a regular basis in general…so if you can’t go out for long without needing to use the restroom, well it looks like you won’t be going out at all.
They’re erasing us from public life and it’s only going to get worse.
Wait... Wait wait wait, let me understand something.
So for this cisgender woman with naturally high testosterone (and/or an intersex condition, I do not know her specific condition and it's honestly none of my business) has to be be forced to take the same testosterone suppressing medications that these same competitive regulatory committee said wasn't good enough to suppress trans women's testosterone to allow them to compete in women's sports.
If she has naturally high testosterone, similar to that that trans women experience in their lives pre-transition then wouldn't she have the same advantages that a trans woman supposedly inherently has and can not be corrected with said testosterone suppression?
Like, no one should have to undergo forced medical treatment to be able to compete or to make it "fair" for their competition. Other athletes have all kinds of natural advantages, like Michael Phelps having an abnormal wingspan and larger lungs and heart. In fact, every high level athlete has some kind of physical advantage, that's how they're such high level athletes. You think the people they beat out for their spots just, what, didn't work as hard? Didn't grab those bootstraps tight enough? Fuck no.
Racism, intersexism, and transphobia are all linked, and this case is maybe the most glaringly obvious one.
This is what I'm talking about transphobia harms intersex people. It's not "dragging intersex people into my trans narrative". It's she's perfectly healthy even with her intersex condition, and she's being forced to take hormone therapy which has health risks just to be allowed to compete.
(Idk if she identifies as intersex, she may not even have known she had hormone variations until these tests happened. But the intersex community does allow people with hormone variations to consider themselves intersex given that they experience intersex-based discrimination like this woman is experiencing. So whether or not this woman is intersex, she is still experiencing discrimination based on intersex characteristics.)
Also it's always women of color that are challenged in these rules because their body types don't meet eurocentric white women's beauty standards. Primarily Black women.

I don't think you get it. This is what the terfs want. They want to eliminate all gender variance. They say they support GNC people, but they don't. They just have to say that to sound reasonable.
They're coming for everyone who doesn't perfectly fit into male or female, and they WILL forcefully make people conform, because in the end, they're fascists, and that's what fascists do
Let’s go!
