I’d like to have purpose burnt into the cracks of my skin, a purpose so powerful and single-minded that it can fling people from me. (oleander. they/it. mid20s. icon by fateology.)

lmfao so this very janky looking game in which you play as an aztec warrior fighting against the invading spanish got a lot of buzz online recently because, yes, very cool concept, however it quickly started attracting criticism because of historical inaccuracies like portraying tenochtitlan as a barren ruin and a lot of other shit that spoke to a very surface level understanding of the setting they were attempting to portray. don't worry though, they've released a statement, and they hear your complaints: now you can also choose to join the conquistadors!

the describtions

as many ppl know brutal queer antagonist legislation has recently been passed by the ugandan government, after long lobbying by euro-american evangelicals. a number of queer activists in uganda need support in relocating to safer places within the country where they are not known and will be less at risk of attack. i kinda know one of the uk based ppl coordinating this campaign and can vouch for its integrity and urgency. please give what u can and share

what the fuck

saxo cere comminuit brum

what the actual fuck

the word for brain here is cerebrum, and it's been literally split in two

I've seen wordplay like this before in Latin, but with compound words that are clearly made up of separate parts

but "cere" is not a word and neither is "brum"

you could translate it something like

"he split his br apart ain with a rock"

and it's only slightly less unreadable than that due to freer word order

needless to say something I'd expect more from a modern experimental poem than an ancient epic

i feel like a lot of people don’t know just how pro-socialist the entire world was directly after WWII prior to the truman doctrine

People all over the world are now discussing whether a third world war will break out. On this question, too, we must be mentally prepared and do some analysis. We stand firmly for peace and against war. However, if the imperialists insist on unleashing another war, we should not be afraid of it. Our attitude on this question is the same as our attitude towards any disturbance: first, we are against it; second, we are not afraid of it. The First World War was followed by the birth of the Soviet Union with a population of 200 million. The Second World War was followed by the emergence of the socialist camp with a combined population of 900 million. If the imperialists insist on launching a third world war, it is certain that several hundred million more will turn to socialism, and then there will not be much room left on earth for the imperialists; it is also likely that the whole structure of imperialism will utterly collapse.
