We found a weird rabbit.
It has taken all of five days for Tiny Bastard to understand that insulin time is broccoli time and she is SO fucking excited for broccoli time.
We've had to stop giving her most standard treats but you have never seen a dog so stoked about frozen peas or steamed broccoli.
Weird rabbit experienced cows and aliens today. She yelled at the cows.
Tiny bastard is unimpressed by her second total solar eclipse.
Showing tiny bastard her blood sugar to explain why she can't have pizza crusts.

“You never see unicorns anymore,” Crawly grumbles, watching another collection of dusty donkeys trudge into town.
“Well, obviously not,” Aziraphale replies, rolling his eyes.
Crawly directs a frown at him.
“Obviously?” he repeats, eyebrows raised in a question.
“You were there, Crawly, you know perfectly well why not.”
Crawly blinks, which doesn’t happen very often.
“You’ve lost me.”
“The Ark?” Aziraphale tries, hoping to jog Crawly’s memory. “You remember, one of Noah’s ran off, they didn’t have time to find another before the rain started…”
Crawly frowns.
“What does that have to do with anything?”
Aziraphale peers at his face, looking for the trick, the joke, the setup. All he sees is honest confusion. It’s his turn to blink.
“Crawly,” he says, somewhere between disbelief and a rather unangelic delight, “you do know why he had two of everything, don’t you?”
Crawly shifts defensively in his seat.
“Assumed it was one of those daft instructions sent down from on high, you know, one Ark, two of each animal, three of each kind of fruit, whatever—”
Aziraphale starts to laugh. He can’t help himself. Crawly scowls at him and hunches his shoulders.
“What? What’s so funny, angel?”
Angel. Crawly called him that in Eden, before Aziraphale thought to give him his name. He doesn’t know why he’s doing it now. Perhaps it’s supposed to be an insult. It doesn’t really have a lot of bite to it, if so.
“You’ve really never— all right, all right, don’t look so cross, I’ll tell you, I’m just— surprised, that’s all.” Aziraphale takes a sip of the fermented beverage the humans in this village have invented. It’s got potential, he thinks. “It takes two of them to breed, Crawly. Male and female.”
Crawly stares at him so blankly that Aziraphale has to bite his lip against more laughter.
“Please tell me you’ve at least noticed the physiological differences between the sexes—”
“Yes, yes, I know about that,” Crawly interrupts. “And what they get up to with those bits. You mean they’re not just for leisure activities?”
“No, they’re rather fundamental to the whole reproduction thing, in fact. The, ah, recreational applications are just a side-effect.”
“What, really?”
“Mm-hmm.”
“But humans are always—”
“Well, that’s why there’s so many of them these days.”
Crawly looks absolutely dumbfounded by this revelation, and more than a little outraged.
“What about birds?” he demands. “They just lay eggs whenever they want to, don’t they?”
“I believe mating is still required beforehand.”
“What about fish?”
“I’m fairly certain that the same rule applies.”
Crawly stares into his clay cup, lips moving slightly as he tries to come to terms with this whole concept. His expression tilts suddenly into something that unexpectedly yanks on Aziraphale’s heartstrings.
“Oh,” he says quietly. “So no more unicorns, then.”
“No,” Aziraphale replies, no longer laughing.
“I’d have got it back for them, if I’d known,” Crawly mumbles.
Yes, Aziraphale thinks, surprised by his own certainty, you would have, wouldn’t you?
This makes me cry every time.

the thing about supernatural is that, if it were real, hunting as a subculture would have a lot in common with biker and cowboy culture. it already does, aesthetically and as a lifestyle. and that means that it would be full of gay men, or at least gay sex. if supernatural were accurate men would’ve been cruising day and night at Ellen’s roadhouse and Bobby/Rufus would’ve been real. unfortunately no one involved in this goddamn show except maybe late-stage Misha Collins understood that they were making a show about queer masculinity’s place within the American gothic. tragic. many such cases.

How do i help my girlfriend with Alexithymia? Her parents dont understand why she says ‘i dont know” to everything when they ask her whats wrong. I cannot speak for her but i can accommodate. What has worked for you? I will be speaking with her parents to teach them about it to make a new plan of how to go about things. Im hopeful yet im terrified (being brave)
Alexithymia is difficulties expressing or identifying emotions. People with this condition experience the physical effects of the emotion, but often do not understand what the physical sensation means or what it connects to. This often leads to delayed emotional responses or they may not experience an emotion at all.
They may also give the incorrect emotional response to a situation as they do not know the appropriate response. An example would be not acting joyous after receiving good news. They are aware it's good news, but they do not experience the sensation to respond.
The biggest issue that I've had explaining this condition is people (especially family) want to know "why".
Alexithymia is usually a secondary diagnosis and is seen in neurological conditions such as autism or depression, brain injuries, and can be trauma induced.
The important thing is to explain there is nothing wrong with your girlfriend. She isn't broken. She simply experiences emotions differently. That's all.
She's still herself, still capable of emotions, but is slower to make the brain/body sensation connection.
Things that help (in my case), are avoiding direct emotion based questions ("how are you" means nothing to me), encouraging them to instead express how they physically feel (I find using metaphors/simile works a treat. "I feel like caramel" is much easier for me to say than "I feel warm and happy") and apps like Animi which help me figure out the body to emotion connection.

honestly one of the best things we can do for ourselves is realize that people of different ages than us can still be the same kind of person as us. it's humbling and it gives everyone involved a sense of continuity, and it busts those stupid generational stereotypes media is so fond of.

every once in a while you just gotta go "This Reality Is Not Acceptable" and put yourself all in on one cause and not let up on it until it is done, to make sure at least one fact of that unacceptable reality, changes. at least one more tragedy avoided.
that is what i have chosen to do here.
i'll admit i'm not especially good at drawing more realistic portraits/people, but i took a crack at it for this. in the back of mind, is the thought: i want to be able to draw a proper family portrait for them a year from now, if they'd like one, and have nobody suddenly be missing from it.
