How ZZH's Instagram account was compromised

aka the question that's been plaguing us all since last year. But now we have enough info to put together a theory. (As always all this info is thanks to the hard work of QV and her friends. I'm just compiling)

  • This means whoever has access to the actual phone number can reset the password and take control of the account.
  • Also how on earth did Abner know the details of the IG's account's security (or lack thereof)? Did his mother tell him? We already know Xie Yihua is ZSJ's handler.
  • On June 2020, ZZH posted on his IG after months of inactivity, and in the comments section he thanked a woman named Virginia. We can infer from their convo that he had lost access to the account sometime ago and that this Virginia helped him gain access again.
  • Based on ZZH's IG activity, he did stop posting for a few months and only started posted there again when he started filming WOH. That's when he thanked this Virginia person.
  • There's an interesting comment under Flora's tweet saying that when they first read this, their interpretation was that this Virginia helped ZZH gain access to his account by setting up a VPN for him. And I was the same. That's also how I initially interpreted it, that ZZH wasn't able to access his IG because of the Great Firewall. But with all the info that has come to light, it looks more like ZZH was unable to access it because it was set up by someone else, with a number that didn't belong to him. And Virginia probably helped him by contacting whoever it was that had access to the account in Yu Zheng's management.
  • So if all this time ZZH's IG account was under the control of someone from Yu Zheng's studio, how did it wind up in the hands of ZSJ's team?
  • Recently, Yu Zheng was seen promoting the hat from ZSJ's brand. (Photos from bluebird and QV)
  • And for those who don't know what Zhao Ge is, it's the show where Yu Zheng asked ZZH to come back for additional shoots while he was still recovering from his knee injury. This is widely understood to be the reason why ZZH's knee was messed up for good. More details here.
  • Zhao Ge was already running into problems way before 813. The script had a lot of elements that likely got it into trouble with the censors, plus in December 2020 more than a hundred industry folks signed a letter calling for a boycott against Yu Zheng and another person for being notorious plagiarists and all around shitty human beings. If it's not the script that sank Zhao Ge's chances of airing, then it's Yu Zheng's awful reputation as a plagiarist amongst his peers. Even before 813, the chances of Zhao Ge airing were not looking good.
  • Yu Zheng was brought to court by Taiwanese author and producer Qiong Yao for plagiarizing one of her novels, and a Beijing court later ruled in her favor. He was ordered to pay her millions. So you know...Yu Zheng is quite literally a criminal. That along with the script is probably why Zhao Ge will never see the light of day. ZZH should actually be the angry one here because his knee was pretty much ruined forever just for a shitty drama that will never even air.
  • A document that was circulated amongst ZZH fans last year and associated with him can also be linked back to a lawyer that once worked on Yu Zheng's legal counsel. Coincidence? Maybe. But it's interesting how many times his name comes up in relation to ZSJ.
  • And this is just personal speculation but I wonder if Yu Zheng was pissed when ZZH blew up after he was no longer within his management, and he could no longer reap the benefits of ZZH's fame for himself. Remember during the WOH concert ZZH mentioned that a lot of old friends suddenly came up to him after WOH's success, asking for all sorts of favours and whatnot, and then him apologizing for not being able to attend to them all. Looking back on that, it's interesting that a lot of people involved in the scam had more or less a connection with ZZH in the past. The Chens from the teashop, Xie Yihua, Zhang Su, Xiao Chu Nada, etc. And now Yu Zheng.
  • So yeah this is it. Yu Zheng's involvement with ZSJ was the last piece of the mystery behind the compromised IG account.

Since QV is talking about the groom from the Nogi shrine wedding again, here's a summary of relevant info:

Aside from the Yasukuni shrine related smears, ZZH was also accused of attending a wedding held in a "politically sensitive" shrine with "far right-wing Japanese nationalists" in attendance as wedding guests.

Is the Nogi shrine really politically-sensitive?

Not nearly as much as the slimeballs behind 813 want people to think. The shrine was dedicated to a Japanese commander called Nogi Maresuke who was involved in the Battle of Lushunkou in the First Sino-Japanese war. According to his Baidu page, he was the head commander of the battle and was the mastermind behind the Lushunkou massacre which took place right after. But all of that is actually incorrect. The real head commander was an entirely different person, a man called Oyama Iwao. Nogi was only the leader of the 1st Infantry Brigade and was under the command of Lieutenant General Yamaji Motogaru, who was in turn under the command of Oyama Iwao. And furthermore, before the battle of Lushunkou ended, Nogi was commanded to head up north to reinforce Jinzhou, so he wasn't even present when the the massacre happened.

So what happened here was that all that false information was edited into Nogi Maresuke's Baidu page on the evening of August 12. And the Nogi shrine's Baidu page did not exist at all before all of this and was only created at the same time Nogi Maresuke's page was edited. So when all the smears dropped and people went to Baidu to do some research, this is what they all saw. Before this, the Nogi shrine was only really known in China for one thing: it was a popular wedding venue.

Were there really far right-wing nationalists in the wedding?

One of these so-called right wing nationalists was an older male wedding guest who people claimed was Motoya Toshio, the president of APA group. APA group ('Always Pleasant Amenities') operates in the Hospitality industry and runs Japan's APA hotels. Now this Motoya Toshio dude actually is a piece of shit. Aside from being the president of APA group, he's also an essayist who writes and distributes political propaganda touting Imperial Japan's WW2 atrocities as "fabricated stories made to dishonor Japan". He distributes his essays and other material containing historical revisionism through his very influential APA group, so you can see why so many people hate this rotten piece of horseshit.

But that old man in the wedding was not him. As far as we know, the only thing they have in common is that they're both old asian men and that's apparently enough for people to claim they're the same person.

The other supposed "right-wing nationalist" was Madame Dewi, the wife of former Indonesian president Sukarno. According to the smears, her husband was anti-China and perpetuated the genocide against Indonesian-Chinese people, so she in turn must be guilty as well. But the reality is that the one responsible for the genocide was a man named Suharto. Their names may sound similar but these two men were very different. Sukarno, Madame Dewi's husband, was a friend to China and the founder of the Bandung Conference. In fact, a major reason why he was overturned was because of his pro-Communist position. And the very man responsible for it (and eventually replaced him as president) was Suharto, who then launched a bloody genocide targetting Indonesian-Chinese people and anyone he deemed "communist friendly". Suharto's rule was considered to be one of the most violent and corrupt dictatorships of the 20th century.

So what happened here was that Madame Dewi's Baidu page was edited, and her husband's name was changed from Sukarno to Suharto. And this falsified information was what people saw when they went to Baidu to research the validity of the smears. Plus, people were claiming that Madam Dewi was a high-ranking right-wing politician in Japan, when she's actually a celebrity and socialite who is largely uninvolved in politics.

People were also pushing the story that ZZH and Madame Dewi were close because they took a photo together, but it seems they did not know each other at all and she only took a photo with him for her blog (where she then criticized his oufit as being unsuitable for a wedding).

Back to the groom:

So at the height of the controversy, the groom posted an apology letter on his instagram account:

I grabbed this from a reddit post because the groom's IG account is now private and I can't be bothered to install the app again to verify. I don't even remember his username or even the password to my own account, so uh...

Also note that the post contains the misinformation on Nogi Maresuke and the Nogi shrine from the maliciously edited Baidu pages.

This seemingly well-meaning apology ended up indirectly "confirming" the false information surrounding the Nogi shrine and Madame Dewi. "Sorry I didn't research the history of the shrine, sorry I did not know Madame Dewi's political background,"

Apologizing like this seemed to suggest that the falsified info was legitimate. It essentially had the same problem as ZZH's apology letter, which frustrated the fandom at the time as it was such a dumb move and only ended up making it look like he was admitting that the smears were correct. There's speculation that the apology letter was not actually from ZZH (or if it was, he was deliberately counseled in bad faith). The statement he gave months later in the presence of other government officials and Li Xuezheng, where he asserted his innocence, was a much better one.

At the time, it was believed by the fandom that the groom had panicked, and in his haste to defend ZZH, did not have time to fact-check the claims or reach out to a lawyer or PR firm. So while his apology only added to the flames, nobody really held it against him. But recently QV pointed out that the groom is friends with an influencer who had a hand in spreading the smears. The groom follows the influencer on social media and QV says (I have no idea how she knows of this, just keep that in mind) that they are also friends in real life. If true, then it's something to consider. Because the groom's "apology" absolutely did add fuel to the flames, and if he had only clarified—truly clarified—instead of apologizing for things that weren't true and making them look true, it really would have helped ZZH in that moment. And if there is a chance his terrible apology was made terrible on purpose....well.

Ke Naiyu's message after the concert for some much needed positivity~

山高路远,各自珍重。有情人终成眷属,我一直相信。
The road ahead is long, be sure to cherish one another. Lovers will eventually become family, I have always believed this.

*the GIF she posted says "You get it, right?"

Avatar

Somebody messaged me about this to ask what exactly she meant and who it was for, and so I realized my translation wasn't done well 😂 When it comes to translating stuff I never know when to translate literally and when to take liberties. 😅

So what Ke Naiyu said is a famous romantic saying 有情人终成眷属 which literally translates to "lovers become family/spouses in the end" and the meaning is something along the lines of "when people are in love, they'll always find a way to beat the odds/whatever lies ahead, to be together".

So I guess a translation that better conveys the meaning in english is:

"The road ahead is long, be sure to cherish one another. Love will always find a way. I believe in that,"

Going on a trip down memory lane in honor of the WOH concert's 2nd anniversary!

When May 3 rolled around everyone had mixed feelings because on one hand: YAY LLD REUNITING ON STAGE WITH THE REST OF THE GREMLIN CAST! but on the other, farewell concerts mean the end of the show's promotion period which also marks the end of interactions between the main actors. And worse, it also marks the start of CP breaking, whether it's just the actors being more distant and reserved with each other throughout the concert (compared to when they were promoting the show) or in the worst cases, like the Love and Redemption concert, where they broke CP so brutally.

But the worst of all (for me at least) is the gloating. The gloating of solo fans, the gloating of the fans of other CPs, and the ever insufferable presence of yxh accounts that have been trying (and failing) to make up conflict between GJ and ZZH the very moment the show started getting the tiniest bit of attention. When it was announced that their Tom Ford livestream was to be done separately, it was made a big deal with all those vultures screaming all over weibo how they were finally "competing with each other", and yxhs fanning the flames at the sidelines.

So when the concert rolled around the atmosphere in the fandom was bittersweet. The more experienced fans were telling us what to expect and going: "They'll probably break CP. There's nothing we can do except hope they'll do it gently".

But as we've learned before, the WOH fandom is a circus and the WOH cast our ever indulgent clowns. Fans found out that GJ and ZZH were sharing a dressing room for the concert and everyone lost their shit. And that's when we knew we were fools to think this farewell concert would be like every other farewell concert, because nothing about this fandom has been normal from the start 😂

In private, a lot of us were gearing each other up for the very strong possibility that GJ and ZZH will nowhere be as close in the concert as they seemed to be when they were promoting WOH. Turns out, not only did they seem even closer and more touchy than before, but the rest of the cast seemed to have finally snapped and lost their marbles altogether. Solo fansites were whining about how hard it was to get good solo photos of GJ and ZZH because they stuck close to each other throughout the entire event.

Even better, they didn't seem conscious of the attention at all. The crowd in the concert hall screamed at the smallest interactions between them and they didn't even look fazed. I wouldn't have blamed them if the screaming made them feel awkward and conscious, but the fact that they just didn't care and even occasionally played along with the hoard of screaming shippers just made me appreciate them even more for being so natural about it and not treating it as something to be ashamed of.

And going beyond showing it with actions, ZZH also verbally acknowledged the fans that like both of them in his speech at the end of the concert. It's often said in CN fan circles that being a CPF from a BL drama is the hardest road to take as a fan (in c-ent at least) because it puts you at the very bottom of the fan heirarchy. CPFs in general are at the very bottom of the fan pyramid but BL CPFs in particular are considered to be even lower. It's a given not to mention you or acknowledge you, and you should only exist in the very fringes of fandom. That's why a lot of BL novel fans (I'm talking about c-fandom specifically) don't really like live action adaptations or their actors, because to them these actors are just using the stories they love to gain popularity, and once they get what they want are quick to toss it and its fans aside as some kind of dark and shameful secret of the past that has to be buried. That's why ZZH's acknowledgement at the end of the concert meant a lot to CPFs, because finally, they get to have a 'seat' at the table along with everyone else.

And of course, the promise and the hug that melted even the most jaded c-fandom veterans 😂

It was really a privilege to be allowed to witness this moment. They could have taken the easier path but chose instead to share this moment with us. It truly was amazing to see them hug and firmly cement their relationship (whatever it may be) in front of thousands of people (with many more watching through the stream) when the norm in the industry is to break CP at this point.

And boy did they mean it. Months after the end of the concert, they were still stubbornly expressing a sense of unity and support for each other. At a time when toxic ZZH fans were really ramping up their attacks against GJ, ZZH pinned his and GJ's duet on his weibo page not only once, but twice. When the livestream host refused to read out a fan's username that had ZZH's name on it, GJ bluntly asked her to read it out loud, saying that censoring it out "isn't polite".

And you gotta wonder if that's part of what all this is about. Since February 2021, there have been many attempts to discredit the close relationship between them and not only has it not stopped, it has gotten much worse. ZZH is no longer in the picture (publicly, at least) but they're still at it and their tactics growing more and more brutal and unhinged the more time passes. In the beginning, ZZH was the evil one who forced poor innocent GJ to do CP marketing with him, and now GJ is somehow an evil mastermind who used ZZH to do CP marketing against his will and crushing him after. Just what is this obsession? It's been almost two years now, ZZH is out of the public eye, his career halted indefinitely, and they're still at it. I'm sure there's more to it but I can't help but feel that part of the reason for all this is because in an industry that rewards the people who are willing to pull off the dirtiest tactics, and encourages the worst kind of competition, GJ and ZZH dared to to treat each other with so much sincerity and kindness.

And just so this post doesn't end on an angsty note, remember when after the concert people were crying and hugging each other, having mental and emotional breakdowns, only to see, about an hour later, videos of GJ and ZZH laughing and giggling onstage, whispering in each other's ear, and then singing "Love to fight if you want to win" together like a pair of newlyweds? Yeah. While the rest of us peons were crying our hearts out, those two were busy treating the concert afterparty like a wedding banquet. Truly the life of an NPC.

And lastly, before I become too emo and write five more paragraphs, I just want to say that even if I'm no longer posting as much about them, I'm always still here waiting.

About that term they call zh. I looked it up and it seems the chinese word for traitor is actually different? 🤔 Is there a difference between han jian and that? Feel free to ignore if it's a silly question 😅

Yep the general word for traitor/turncoat is "Pan Tu" 叛徒. The term they use for ZH is "Han Jian" 汉奸 which can also be translated as traitor, but has a heavier connotation and a more specific meaning. "Han" 汉 as in the Han ethnicity, and "Jian" 奸 which can mean traitor or illicit liaison, so someone who "lays with the enemy". A more literal translation is "traitor to the Han race".

Calling someone a traitor in english may sound almost cartoonishly evil, but the term hanjian is probably the most politically disastrous title for a Chinese citizen. If you are recognized as such by enough people, you may get excluded from communities and face severe harassment, and those threats almost always extends to family & people known to be close to you. Modern usage of the word is mainly rooted in the crackdown of collaborators to Japanese forces during the 2nd Sino-Japanese War, but it's an old concept. It was used by people against each other during the Opium Wars, and it dates as far back as the 13th century, used by Hans of the Song dynasty to call those who sold out fellow Han people to the Jurchen-led Jin dynasty. It's a very heavy label to slap on someone, and calling someone a Hanjian is akin to accusing them of treason, and in the times of the Cultural Revolution, it can mean full ostracization, that extend to sons and daughters, if not death.

It's often used as a way to unite people under a single banner by "othering" a select few. And a lot of people, especially ones who lived through the Cultural Revolution, know how effective it is in turning the masses against a person and how powerful it is as a tool to destroy someone with. Even the Red Brigade differentiated the Pantu from the "more sinister" Hanjians during their purging. There are probably some dissertations out there that go through the long history of the term that can better express how heavy it is. It's a word that you can almost feel.

That's why it was shocking that during August, everyone outside the fandom seemed to agree that ZZH deserved what was happening, and some even celebrating it, even though it was his life and possibly his whole future, that was being destroyed in real time. I read many posts saying he deserved it for being a "Japanophile" simply because he loves anime? As if billions of Chinese didn't grow up loving Japanese anime and still love Japanese anime to this day? The internet (well, weibo) went nuts when Ultraman was temporarily pulled.

All those sanctimonious essays from offended "Chinese diaspora" lecturing everyone about how problematic his sakura pictures were, and how everyone else was stupid or insensitive for thinking that the punishment grossly exceeded the "crime". It's disgusting how they justified that horrific witchhunt all because they wanted to be woke, sanctimonious wankers on social media. And it's funny how your opinion was only valid as a Chinese when you were condemning him, but if you were on his side you were suddenly not Chinese enough. And if they know SO much about Chinese culture then surely they know what kind label hanjian is? What it would mean for ZZH to have such a damning epithet hung around his neck?

For me I just know it as a word not to be thrown around lightly, but for older people it invokes a stronger reaction. It was brought up when I was over at my friend's house a few days before and we talked to her uncle about it, how ZZH had taken pictures in front of sakura trees within the Yasukuni compound and then he was called a Hanjian, and his reaction was "Who wants to kill him?"

Small update: A CPF fansite, tongmou, that has been inactive since September 2022 recently resurfaced to upload photos of ZSJ's Bangkok concert. Allegedly the account was bought and according to QV (have no idea how she knows about this) they offered "six figures" for it (had to look this up to know what this means 😂)

If you're new to c-ent shenanigans this basically means the real tongmou must have decided to discontinue the fansite (probably unstanned or felt it was no longer profitable enough to keep), then somebody offered money to buy it and she accepted. Big fandom accounts getting bought (often for not so good motives) is really a thing that happens in c-ent fandoms, not just in ours.

What's interesting is that the Bangkok concert photos the account uploaded were censored by weibo.

But the old photos of ZZH (the actual ZZH) in the account are still intact. Weirdly enough this has been happening for a while now on weibo. Photos of ZSJ have a pretty good chance of getting nuked (especially if uploaded by a big account) but ZZH's old photos stay up.

2nd update:

So GJ walked at the Cannes red carpet, looked really good, etc etc, and naturally since c-ent is such an unbearable dumpsterfire of a hellscape where all things good and pure come to die, there was quite a bit of drama online about it. An older lady who happens to have quite a bit of clout in c-ent posted an unflattering photo of GJ on her weibo. People think she did it on purpose (I think so too. She also posted photos of other stars and only GJ got that treatment). So antis etc used that as an opportunity to smear GJ, claiming all photos of him from Cannes were filtered to make him look better than he actually is (apparently, even Ghetty Images and every single photographer in the event are now under the command of the all powerful GJ) and it was basically just your typical braindead c-ent drama. Not really worth getting angry over and honestly the unflattering photo wasn't even bad at all, just that GJ was caught mid-blink.

The interesting bit is that ZSJ fans immediately fawned over this older lady. As QV pointed out, you can only comment on her posts seven days after following her. The whole issue with the photo followed by a wave of hate against GJ plus a hotsearch happened on May 18. We can't comment even if we wanted to because seven days have not yet passed, and yet all those ZSJ "fans" have already flocked to her comments and hyping her up. So were they all already following this woman nobody gives two shits about even before all this? Was her causing trouble for GJ already planned beforehand in collaboration with ZSJ shills? Because it sure looks like it.

At least with this we now know which accounts are probably not ordinary fans, but people who have a much deeper connection with the ZSJ scam and get directives on what to do. But as for what that woman's deal is, I have no idea. A quick scroll through her account though shows she's not as "above" fandom as she claims she is, and I've seen enough to know that no matter how old she is, no matter who her parents are and her claim to pedigree, she can still be just another weirdo in a parasocial relationship with her fave. It's just that the more powerful and well-connected weirdoes have the capacity to do much more unhinged shit compared to the rest of us.

not to be rude, but what if you're wrong? what if zhang sanjian IS zhang zhehan and all this time that you're "waiting" you're continuing to support gong jun, the one responsible for his downfall as he stated himself? again, not being rude, just asking. 🙂

You're not being rude, you're just being passive agressive 😂 Also let me get something straight here, the reason I don't support ZSJ is not just because I think he's a fake, but because I think he's a spiteful little coward. Even if he is actually ZZH, it won't change my opinion of ZSJ, but it will change my opinion of ZZH.

The accusations ZSJ threw against GJ in that instagram video are not only baseless, but contradictory to ZZH's previous behaviour. If you've seen all their shenanigans during the WOH promotional period and the concert, can you in good faith say that only GJ was involved in the CP fanservice? They were both playing into it and ZSJ accusing GJ of CP fanservice only makes ZZH look like a hypocrite. If "ZZH" regrets that and now wants to become the patron saint of heterosexuality, he's free to do as he pleases, but the attack against GJ for the same actions that he himself took part in is unacceptable. Not to mention him accusing GJ of being the one behind 813 without providing a shred of proof. Again, not only are those accusations baseless, they also don't make any sense, considering what it takes to pull off something at the scale of 813. ZSJ didn't even have the guts to drop GJ's name. If you're going to accuse someone of something so serious without any proof, the least you could do is own up to it entirely instead of hiding behind plausible deniability.

What if I'm wrong, you ask? Then it only means I was wrong about ZZH and I was wrong to believe in the integrity of his character. But what about you? What if you're wrong? Unfriendly reminder that the Bangkok concert was handled by a production company that has ties with CAPA, the very organization that played a massive role in the destruction of ZZH's career. The same hate accounts on weibo who have been shitting on ZZH since WOH was airing are now the same people supporting ZSJ and harassing GJ. What if you're wrong and all along you've been sucking CAPA's gangrenous dick thinking that you're defending ZZH by doing so? What if all this time you've been rallying behind the same people who ruined ZZH's life?

If I'm wrong, I can live with it. But can you say the same for yourself?

You guys must have seen that article from Vox that was filled with misinformation about ZZH's case written by someone called Aja Romano.

The article was very hostile towards Junzhe CP fans, which is actually not that strange knowing how RPS fandoms are seen, but since Romano herself was part of RPS fandoms and even believes that Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo are in a secret relatonship, you've got to wonder where all the hostility is coming from. It's also very interesting that she never once showed any interest in WOH ever since it aired, but then suddenly appears and writes a scathing article about Junzhe CP fans a full year later, even regurgitating anti talking points from weibo beat by beat. So when I first read it I suspected that it wasn't written by a passerby journalist, but rather by someone who was very familiar with the WOH fandom and specifically with Junzhe CP fans. Someone who was keeping an eye on the fandom's conversations. And also possibly, someone who has something against us or ZZH and GJ.

On June 2022, an article that was published on The China Story finally laid out the facts about ZZH's case: that he wasn't banned by the CN government, that CAPA wasn't a government entity and therefore had absolutely no right to issue a boycott, that ZZH was the victim of a vicious smear campain that must have taken millions to fund. After the horrible articles Aja Romano wrote for Vox, it was a welcome relief.

Well now some amazing people over on twitter found out that Aja Romano actually emailed the editors of The China Story, asking to retract the article. It's the ONLY article that contains the truth about his case, and has all the facts that Li Xuezheng himself stated. And she asked for it to be taken down.

She claimed that the article was filled with misinformation, even though the article was based only on facts that were verified during the time Li Xuezheng was active. Aja insisted that ZZH was banned by the government, even though that was debunked three times, twice by the NRTA and once by the MCT. Since when did a chronically online waste of space and human equivalent of watery diarrhea like Aja Romano have more say about ZZH's case than the literal Chinese government?

Like what you like, ship what you ship. Mind your own fucking business. There's no rule saying you must stuck your rancid dick in other fandoms just to enjoy your own.

Full post about Aja Romano's email here:

A post about how a shit stain waste of space @ajawrites @bookshop attacked fans of Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan in an article she wrote for @vox, and then went on to slander and defame Zhang Zhehan in an attempt to get the only article published about his cancellation by CAPA retracted.

Here's the context: On June 6, 2022, @vox published an article written by @ajawrites @bookshop claiming that fans of Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan are "conspiracy theorists". In it, she makes all types of claims defaming myself and the entire JunZhe fandom (both here and in China) for being conspiracy theorists because we do not believe Zhang Zhehan's Instagram account is controlled by him. For those who don't know, Instagram fraud is rampant and there have been several Chinese celebrities who have been the victim of this. Zhang Zhehan's solo fans encouraged the reposting of this article and defended it because they somehow believe that Zhang Zhehan would "comeback" on an international platform before his name is cleared in China (another story for another day).

On June 14, 2022, less than one week after the publication of that article, The China Story published an article about why Zhang Zhehan was cancelled, and specifically that a non-governmental organization called the China Association of Performing Arts (CAPA) was behind the cancellation, not the Chinese government. It also described the efforts made by Li Xuezheng, a famous government-affiliated director, to clear his name. To my knowledge, this is the only story in the world to shine a light on CAPA's role in Zhang Zhehan's cancellation.

After this article was published, @ajawrites @bookshop wrote a long email to the China Story on June 18, 2022 seeking that the article be retracted. She claimed she had done "research" which showed that the article was part of a conspiracy theory (false), that Zhang Zhehan's family was linked to Japan (false), that Zhang Zhehan was cancelled by the government (false), that CAPA wasn't involved (false), and that all those who believe they are are "conspiracy theorists" (false). She repeats anti talking points to smear Zhang Zhehan in an attempt to obtain a retraction of the article.

Yes, @ajawrites @bookshop attempted to get the only article in the world that described CAPA in a negative light retracted.

We have a copy of the email. Here are some excerpts of her own words.

In it, she makes all types of claims defaming myself and the entire JunZhe fandom (both here and in China) for being a conspiracy theorist because we do not believe Zhang Zhehan's Instagram account is controlled by him.

Stay in fandom long enough, often enough and you will probably encounter Aja Romano at some point. If you haven’t, consider yourself lucky; they have been stirring shit in fandom for over a decade.

Aja’s latest stint started last year, when they wrote an article for Vox detailing how fans of Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun - often known as JunZhe fans - were delusional conspiracy theorists for believing Zhang Zhehan, unjustly slandered August 2021 and effectively silenced on CN social media, was not the one behind the Instagram account formally run by him. (It’s a long story and I suggest going to catch up at @bizarrequazar masterposts).

Well, there is far more to the story and @bluebirdmuppet has outlined the scathing details on Twitter.

I have some choice words that cannot be spoken in polite company, so I shall simply use the line that many have iterated before:

If you side with Aja, you are on the wrong side.

🌼Howdy, everyone! I know that there was no lore post today ^ ^ sorry about that. I have been working on a project the last week or so. It included drafting designs for some hard enamel pins. I have designs for a lot of the Wonderfell cast but I decided to do Red’s first to see how it goes. Now that these are finished I have sent them off to get a quote.

This is where I need help! If I want to put these into production  I need at least 50 pre-orders. If you are not pre-ordering please reblog! I can’t stress how reblogs help spread the word.

As far as I can tell each pin will be around 15-20$. The black Chesh seems to be the fan favorite. If I get 50 for both the black and white version then I can split a 100 order and it will be less expensive to produce! In addition, if these do well then I will start working on the rest of them and get quotes for those as well. As of right now, there are 16 Wonderfell pins designed.

💙PREORDER WILL BE OPEN SOON! 💙

DO NOT REPOST MY WORK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION IT IS NOT FOR YOUR USE. IF YOU LIKE MY WORK PLEASE REBLOG INSTEAD! It helps me so much! It makes such a difference.💙If you want more of these just let me know! It’s the only way I can gauge interest!

YO! PINS!!!!!

Finally!! Some more well-deserved BakuDeku! I had so much fun with this one. I based their looks off of the collaboration between BNHA and J!NS PAINT eye wear company! Their outfits are from official artwork!

YokaiFell {Red X Frisk; Frans}

🌼Here is all the lore/ story for YokaiFell! This is one of my favorites so I hope you enjoy. It is pretty long as all of these are. If you like what I do please reblog to share it around! After my post earlier today I need to get away. I am doing my best and you know. It still hurts. Thank you to everyone that has reached out and said kind things. I will put a “keep reading” divider after a certain point as there are spoilers for the story. If you want to read the whole plot then be my guest but I want to put that warning.

Alternate “Nicknames” Info:

Sans: Ryutsuki (Ryou) 龍月 Papyrus: Kuro  黒

Yokai Masterlist:

Ryou- Kitsune (Kitsune Ebi- Shou & Rin)

Kuro- Gashadokuro

Doomfanger- Maneki neko (a variation of the bakeneko this kind brings good luck and fortune which I thought would be cute for the brothers. Hilariously Doomy was with Boss before he died coughs. Doomy is kind of like that cricket in Mulan supposed to be lucky but… questionable.)

Flowey: I am unsure if I am planning on putting Flowey in this or just have him as Asriel. Either way, he would most likely resemble the higanbana. These are also Red’s flower of choice, which is…ironic if you know the language of flowers.

The Dreemurrs: (this is a hard one. There are no Yokai as far as I can recall that are goat like, however there are some good candidates that could work. I have a few in mind right now and that is the kotobuki, hakutaku, shisa, Kirin or even the baku.

Undyne: Uni nyobo

Alphys: Honengyo (This is kind of the “Godzilla” idea she would just be mini XD)

Muffet: Jorogumo

Grillby: Onibi (this is a strange one because he would have to be a combination of onibi for this to work but don’t worry I am on it!)

Gerson: Kappa/ Genbu (due to his wisdom)

*{The lesser monsters would be a variation of yokai not exactly pertaining to their UT counterparts unless I can make that connection. The Underground/ Underworld, in this case, it basically the spirit realm so it’s not really necessary. They are not exactly trapped like in the original.}

Main Plot Synop:  Frisk is a foreigner trying to start a new life across the world in Japan. It is also modern day (I settled on Izumo). The people she moves to live among tell Frisk of their traditions and stories but her being from the West she has a hard time understanding. Frisk is told not to stay out too late and wander the nearby forest but hey who listens to reason? She ends up getting lost, alone, and afraid. That is until a series of flame like lights presumably show her the way back to the town. This happens a few times but she becomes more and more curious by them until they lead her deeper into the forest. She comes upon the entrance of an abandoned shrine stopping before a Torii Gate as the lights disappear. These are kitsunebi by the way. Only when she is hesitant to pass through it, do they appear on the opposite side.

She ends up being startled by a white-haired human that seems to have just appeared out of thin air. He tries to speak to her but she barely understands the language if only a few words. In frustration, the stranger steals a kiss from the shell shocked human girl only for her to suddenly be able to understand what he is saying. A still highly confused Frisk ends up learning that he is, in fact, a demon or rather her interpretation since she is from the West.

It turns out that in order to give her the ability for her to understand him a dose of his magic was required changing the physical makeup of her soul causing it to become desirable to other hungry yokai that roam both the spirit realm as well as the night. Not believing his claim and rather angry at his sudden advance she storms off heading back toward the village. She begins to see more than she should as spirits appear out of the woodwork.

An oni appears in front of her ready to devour the poor unsuspecting human in which she ends up running back to the gate in order to avoid the giant monster. At first, Ryou is not interested in saving the human girl but it is his fault that she has ended up in this situation. He saves her but not before she ends up accidentally running through the Torii Gate attempting to dodge an attack. The beast follows and Frisk ends up trapped in the spirit realm when the monster destroys the gateway. Kuro, Ryou’s older brother makes quick work of the beast.

The rest of the story revolves around Frisk trying to return home which requires a journey since a human does not belong in their realm and the gate to “leave” is on the opposite side of the realm. It is incredibly dangerous for someone like her to be there so she ends up in disguise with the help of Grillby and Red. Red is a kitsune so he is able to create the perfect illusion adding more magic to her soul to fool it into being a yokai. He is surprised to find she is the same kind as him, a kitsune.

Their journey takes them all the way across the spirit realm to find another gate and on the way, they run into a colorful cast of characters. Some are helpful spirits. Others are man-eating demons that are looking for a delicious human soul to devour. At first, Frisk is content staying with the brothers but a human does not belong in their realm and that causes complications.

Yokai Lore/ Spirit Realm world: The spirit realm is a dangerous place that few humans have ever set their eyes on. It the world between. A space that is home to various yokai. Humans cannot naturally see spirits as the modern setting has diminished the humans that still believe in them. They are not trapped but rather there is a hierarchy that is established. The more powerful the yokai the more they are able to interact with the human realm.

Hierarchy brief explanation (restrictions and interactions):

Servants of the gods- Yokai that can interact with the human world during the day or whenever they see fit. They are messengers for their respective deities. They are not known to be troublesome or mischievous.

Kitsune- A more rare type of yokai that can shift its appearance at will but mostly represented by that of a multi-tailed fox. Some of them are servants of the gods but those who have no alignment can walk among the living during the day for a duration of time. When the night comes they can walk freely and interact with humans as they see fit. They are mostly known for luring humans away with kitsune ebi or foxfire.

“Boss” Yokai- Yokai gain their status by either specific species or their prestige. That can either be obtained by LV gain or doing favors for the gods. Some are hostile and some are passive it depends on the encounter. They can walk freely during the night without hindrance but unlike the two prior they cannot take form during the day.

“Lesser?” Yokai- Yokai that are relatively weak and unable to hold a physical form in the human realm. They can move objects and possibly possess humans but they have no ability to interact on a substantial level. They can be seen by some humans as little dancing and vanishing lights. They can rarely pass the barrier as is.

Lost souls- Lost spirits that wander between realms. They cannot interact with humans but can be seen from time to time. They are what the west consider the typical ghost.

Human Struggles Info {Plot}:

A human does not belong in their realm which also means that the world is also an enemy. The power of the soul plays a huge factor in this as weak souls are more susceptible to the worlds influence. There are three different outcomes that are possible for a human if they end up trapped in the spirit realm.

  1. Dinner is served-  A large number of yokai are known for their man-eating tendencies finding human souls and flesh a kind of delicacy. Some are beasts that kill for pleasure but a humans worst outcome is being eaten or killed.
  2. You’re one of us now- A strong human soul slowly can be changed. The soul decides what kind of yokai that human can become or will become. It is entirely possible that most of the yokai were once human but it is unknown. They are usually lesser yokai or spirits.
  3. Lost soul- What the title implies. A soul unable to remember who they were. They wander for the rest of eternity searching for answers they will never receive. They are miserable creatures that pull others into their fate. Their depression is infectious and anyone already questioning themselves could easily find themselves among their ranks. They are not malicious only confused and desperate.

Symptoms of becoming a Lost Soul:

  1. Confusion
  2. Memory loss
  3. Random emotional response
  4. Physical weakness/ fatigue

SPOILERS BELOW FOR THE MAIN STORY
