do you like friends to lovers because it’s a cute trope or because you’re desperate to be loved by someone who knows you inside out and would show up at your door at 2am in the morning to take you on a road trip while also packing your favorite snack and then kiss you good night as you snuggle up in their arms at some dingy motel while watching bad rom-coms which they hate because the characters doesn’t communicate with each other and communication is the most important thing in your relationship and the trope of rom-com women behaving erratically over an easily resolvable misunderstanding needs to die

Edit: For those who are more likely to rb or donate with this kind of information, my partner's name is Dreamer, they're 22, a member of the Dene tribe in the Northwest Territories. They're 2-Spirit, lesbian, and they're non neurotypical.

They were laid off from their job on the reservation due to covid earlier this year, and have been unable to receive any steady kind of financial supplementation since then.

I'm willing to do whatever I possibly can to protect my partner. If I can do anything at all, be it adult content, or like Fiverr style tasks, or whatever I can do for you the reader to justify spending/donating money to help, Please feel more than welcome to DM me and I'll hear you out!

Donations are unbelievably appreciated, and if anybody would prefer something more akin to a loan, I'll take one if I can protect my girlfriend! :(

I'm begging, desperately to anybody that can and will read this, that if there's anything extra at all you can spare towards my partner it would mean more to me than anything in my life.. :(

And across Canada or adjacent/near Northwest Territories if there is any kind of mutual aid in the form of short term or long-term shelter, or any other local resources, please DM me about it!

More information coming in the reblogs when I get a chance! :(

Mind the edit to the last post if it doesn't show up in the notes, but essentially

As of right now, I don't know whether or not their family has pressed charges with the police with the intent to arrest them after removing them from the house. I don't yet know what bail could cost if that happens. And overall there's a lot I'm still trying to figure out, and lots I don't know what to do about yet.

But the biggest possible aid right now is genuinely as much financial aid as they can possibly get. Thats the most reliable and guarenteed way to help as of this moment..

If upon release they have no shelter lined up, it's desperate that they have money and resources, especially as a homeless person during a pandemic :(((

If anybody trustworthy residing in the Northwest Territories (or any adjacent provinces like Alberta or BC!!) are able to provide housing/shelter as mutual aid, please do reach out to me with contact information or potential resources. Currently investigating the Rainbow Coalition in Yellowknife, but I'm not a local.

As their partner, I obviously would be more than happy to provide housing for them as long as possible, but I live in north Florida and they're currently unable to afford a passport and would need an address in order to apply for one :(

I'm under the assumption that, If they were able to cross borders and fly to me, they would have to be able to transport with their as many of their belongings as they can bring as well as their dog, to a larger airport most likely outside of NWT, and flights from Calgary planned at least 3 weeks in advance, start at $200 not including mail/luggage fees/if there's a pet fee/etc.

I would be willing to take advice at this point too, if anybody knows more efficient ways to transport/knows any other good sources to fundraise from, please DM! :(

I'm presently unable to track their PayPal, or ask them since their internet access is either limited to none as of this moment. :( But if I'm able to ask them or gain access to the account, I'll do what I can to keep people updated on the situation and if donations are coming in!!

If you've read through all of this, I really do appreciate it. I'm really scared for my girlfriend's life and I wish I could already afford to get them here safely :(

Reader: wow! I’m so curious how you’re going to fit everything you’ve been foreshadowing in here!

Me, frantically flipping through my notes, trying to figure out if I’ve accidentally foreshadowed something I Shouldn’t Have: ummm, yes. Right. Uh, just for fun, would you mind telling me what, that would be… exactly.

dogs will run around outside with you for an hour but the moment you come inside and sit down with a cup of tea they will be pacing around at the door again like they’ve never seen the light of the sun

This is my new cat five seconds after I’ve gone to bed despite having just played for 30 minutes and eaten an entire gremlin’s worth of kibble

In some black communities there’s still a stigma that kinky or coarse hair is “bad”, which couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s no such thing as good or bad when describing someone’s natural hair texture or type. To those struggling to love and accept their natural hair because of societal pressures, remember this - straight, curly, kinky or wavy, it doesn’t make a difference. Embrace your hair the way it is, no matter what society tells you. All hair is good hair. It’s your Crown.

I love how several of these are very historical-esque chignons and updos (I admit it, I also just have a Thing about chignons), but done in a way that protects rather than damages different textures of hair. That’s really cool, getting a style you want by working WITH your hair, rather than against it.

(I thought it was really cool when I found out thin braids, cornrows, dreads, etc. protect certain types of hair and make it easier for care for. Prioritizing hair care in culture/fashion is cool.)
