The worse kind of pain is when you're smiling just to stop the tears from falling
She lies awake trying to find the words to say
Thank you for feeding us years of lies,
Thank you for the wars you left us to fight

"Wendy, run away with me,

I know I sound crazy, don’t you see what you do to me?”

To the boy whose greatest fear is growing old, The boy who said he isn’t necessarily afraid of death just thinks getting old is like getting to the end of a good book. I plan on spending multiple eternities with you, Until you no longer detect the burden of time. I will carry the weight of lives in my womb less scared of their future knowing that they are less fragile of human beings than you & I are. So let’s make everyday an adventure, A temporary eternity. Lets climb mountain tops & scream out the names of past lovers so the wind can carry the bitter tastes of the moments we had with them off our mouths. Lets eat mozzarella sticks Lady & the Tramp spaghetti style care free of obesity & diabetes, Run with our arms like wings till we feel like Peter & Wendy flying. Build blanket forts & call them Neverland so we can pretend growing old is never an option; So when growing old does finally smack us in the face we can embrace our growing wisely. In old age we can climb stairs like we climbed mountain tops & scream out the names of our grandchildren so we can remember what it tastes like to feel young again. Let’s ask each other questions that we already know the answer to, To hear how it sounds coming from the other person again, Then make a game, Pretending that the number of wrinkles that have formed on our body is the exact number of questions we’ve asked. So on days where I can’t seem to find my youthful smile in the ancient ruins of my skin and I ask you “do you still think I’m beautiful?” You can point at my face and say “for the 98,945th time, yes I do.” & if Alzheimer’s eats at our brains we can look into each others eyes & remember every eternity we had even if reminiscing will only last us but so much time. & like that, you will forget who I am & I will forget you. So we can fall in love all over again never remembering the questions Or the taste of the ex lovers names, Or the weight of children, Or the fear of growing old. & you will remain oblivious to the fact that within this time you have helped me conquer all of my fears. So to the boy whose greatest fear is growing older, Not necessarily death but just thinks getting older is like the end of a good book. When we do leave this world, We will simply continue this story in heaven. Young again, For all eternity, Like its the greatest book ever written without an ending.
