Death Note AU where hbomberguy makes a five hour long video about youtuber Light Yagami that's initially completely unrelated to the murders (Light would probably plagiarize or have really unhinged right-wing political takes if he was on youtube)

but halfway through he reveals that while researching he stumbled upon evidence that Light might be behind the Kira murders, and then spends like fourty minutes explaining the concept of a shinigami, an hour explaining how he thinks Light used one to commit murders, and then another hour explaining Light's ideology and why the concept of criminals being inherently evil is flawed

He finishes the video by addressing Light directly and telling him that he (Hbomberguy) had his name legally changed before uploading the video, to something that only he knows, making it impossible for Light to kill him

what if instead of writing a name in the death note you had to draw that person or creature as a drawing before it died but the more sentient and smart something is the more realistic the drawing had to be so you can doodle a fly and it would die but a person would have to be pretty realistic to work but one day you’re messing around and killing seagulls at the beach because you’re a freak i guess but you go to draw one of the seagulls and it doesn’t die so you shrug because maybe its smarter than the other ones so you do it more realistically but it still doesn’t die which is weird because it should have definitely bit the dust by now so you go home and study how to draw seagulls for days and you take pictures of that specific seagull for reference until you finally go back to the beach and you sit there and you draw the most realistic depiction of a seagull anyone’s ever done and its more realistic than your other drawings even of people and as the seagull falls out of the sky, ill gotten fry in its mouth you realize you’ve just killed the smartest and and most sentient creature on the planet. would that be fucked up or what

i hate when americans get asked about the israeli/palestinian conflict and they say “well it’s not really my place to have an opinion” our country literally funds genocide against the palestinian people in the name of “defense” it absolutely is our business, we should be as mad as we can as loudly as possible.

okay but no seriously like how many times do we have to keep saying "palestinians are EXTREMELY diverse and many are from multiethnic backgrounds" only for some of yall to be like "palestinians are brown arabs indigenous to the land and anyone else does not belong on that land!" to try to make fun of people with light features for being european settlers (which btw, MANY palestinians are light haired, light eyed, and light skinned) and then trying to insist that black palestinians are not actually palestinian as if 'palestinian' is a race and has specific characteristics- like hellooooo you guys are inventing eugenics every other week..

My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

I saw @parrot-parent do a very successful donation match and I thought it was such a good idea so I will also match all donations up to $500! If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February.
