Fans agreeing that:

  1. Sam is taking Eileen's last name.
  2. Eileen is doing the dipping.
  3. Eileen's dress had pockets (for carrying knives).
  4. Sam is super nervous for no reason until the ceremony actually begins. Then he can't stop grinning.
  5. Dean acts all cool and chill but cries during the vows.
  6. The bachelor party was wild. Eileen's gang committed arson and Sam's accidentally conjured a ghost. Cas was there for both ("how did Cas get here, I thought he was with Sam?")
  7. Jack thinks this wedding is great and Eileen is his mom now. He adopts her and she's like "yeah, sounds about right son."
  8. They play "come on Eileen" at least 10 times.
  9. Everyone learned a bit of asl to include in their speeches.

Bonus round/suggestion: Next wedding is easter and it's Donna/Jody.

for the saileen wedding i want to bring back this interview with shoshannah stern, because i love every single word of it and the lines about saileen specifically are very sweet.

  • “I think one thing they have in common, and there’s a lot there, is that they give without any real agenda.”
  • “Now that Eileen’s gotten a second chance, especially considering that Sam was the one to give it to her, I think she’s become fearless in potentially exploring that connection.”
  • “I’ve always felt that Eileen was written as a mirror image of Sam.”
  • “Sam might be the most important person Eileen’s ever had in her life.”
  • “That was all her wanting to protect Sam, without any smoke or mirrors.”

and most importantly

  • “Deaf or disabled people are usually the victim, not the one who rescues. The fact that she is such a viable love interest is not insignificant either. So many times people don’t see people with disabilities as feasible relationship material. Because of that they’re often desexualized and written off, especially in that particular sort of way, but it’s something that is so central to the human experience, and it’s something that people deserve to have if they’re so inclined. And so the fact that the main character of the show is interested in a deaf woman in that way is something that I believe is the opposite of reductive. It’s enhancing, not just for the a character, but for young people with disabilities in the audience. I hope they see themselves the way that Sam sees Eileen and realize that they can, should, and will be seen that way by people that are important to them and to the world, because that carries an inordinate amount of weight.”

Ok hear me out tho: Dean and Cas are like...freaks who are super normal. Sam and Eileen are super normal people who are freaks. I can't explain it any clearer than that.

Some of y'all didn't hear me so I guess I gotta elaborate.

Dean and Cas are weird! They're weird people and they have issues! They overshare appalling details of their pasts shamelessly but blush when they so much as smile at each other! They work on their issues, slowly and with a lot of grumbling, and they like how weird the other one is! They get each other and that's great because damn someone has to! People who don't know them well wonder how they're together sometimes because outwardly they seem so different. Nobody but their closest friends realize the jagged edges are just interlocking puzzle pieces.

But they're also married with 2.5 kids and a dog and Cas starts drama in the PTA for fun and Dean hosts cookouts solely to pry information from the other PTA moms' husbands, because he and Cas are a TEAM and he supports his husband's hobbies and interests! They go to the farmer's market and Cas has a garden and they spend their evenings curled up on the couch reading or watching movies. They were badass world-saving hunter and angel in another life and that'll always be part of their story, but now their story is a slice of life dramedy and they LOVE THAT.

Sam and Eileen, meanwhile, are chill people who've dealt with their shit. They understand each other's past traumas and treat each other gently and are disgustingly, annoyingly healthy and well-adjusted, all things considered. Like it was hard and sometimes they still have bad days but they did that! People who are around them for five minutes start feeling lonely and believing in soulmates and questioning their comparatively lackluster relationships.

But they also run a hub for the supernatural community that's constantly full of the strangest assortment of people you're likely to meet: injured hunters on the mend, werewolves who need a place to stay safely when they change, vampires adjusting to animal blood, kids orphaned by the supernatural waiting for a home where they'll be understood and cared for, the odd lonely shifter who just needs therapy and friends, even one or two demons looking to be made human again. The Queen of Hell stops by for brunch on Sundays and the embodiments of primordial Darkness and Light have their own rooms for when they visit.

(To be fair, the Queen of Hell and embodiments of primordial Light and Darkness also spend a fair amount of time with Dean and Cas, but the whole vibe is different there. Jack gets to be a kid when he's home, Rowena gets to help Cas with his latest bout of PTA mayhem, and Amara spends most of her time just enjoying the relative peace and quiet.)

Greco-Roman AU: Dean and Castiel, having finally tracked down the brother stolen from Dean years ago, travel to the capital to rescue him. But years with the Empire have had their effect, and sweet, shy Sam has been replaced with the evil senator Samsus. Samsus arrests Dean and Castiel, forcing them to face off against his undefeated warrior, The Colossus. Will Samsus remember who he truly is before his brother and childhood best friend are killed by the rampaging Colossus?

(yes, yes he will)

Happy one month anniversary, Dean and Cas!

March 14, 2021

Today marks the one month anniversary of the day our fandom chose to celebrate Dean and Castiel's wedding (also pi day!). We're going to celebrate by remembering the highlights of February 14th.

Fans spent the days before the wedding planning, looking up rings for the grooms and cake for the wedding. Some fans made wedding invitations. They came up with theories about which characters would be invited to the wedding and what they would do there.

On the big day, fans posted pictures of their "wedding outfits", and gave regular updates on what was going on at the wedding. In fact, the wedding was so popular that #DeanCasWedding trended on Twitter for hours in many countries.

And almost immediately, there was a huge influx of wedding related art, fanfics, memes and edits. We asked you to submit some of your favorites, which you can find on our blog under #DeanCas Wedding.

Thank you to everyone involved for your endless love and creativity. We hope you, and the grooms, had a lovely DeanCas Anniversary.

Hi- I've not seen anyone mention this, but after seeing Chuck in Dean's robe I remembered this from the supernatural wiki "The robe has the initial T.E.P. monogrammed in red on the left breast pocket. According to writer Ben Edlund, the initials stand for Tyrone Edmund Power. The real Tyrone Power was a movie star during Hollywood's Golden age, who had an adventure filled life. Power was openly (for the time) bisexual" Dead Guy Robe, more like Bi Guy Robe...

YES! I just went looking through my own blog for it, and for some reason couldn’t find it (gah I know I reblobbed it back in February… but I did find it on @sandraugiga‘s blog, so here have a link or two).

So I wrote a thing (all over @elizabethrobertajones perfectly nice post– sorry about that again) yesterday about how Chuck was both hiding AND also (consciously or not) imitating Dean. From the moment he arrived at the bunker, nearly everything he did physically could believably have been scripted for Dean, right down to his wardrobe choices. Yes, even hanging out in his boxers and the Dead Guy Robe:

I mean just look at his lil ankles! Boy ain’t wearing pants under there.

And whether Dean knows it or not, Ben Edlund did indeed state that the monogram TEP does stand for Tyrone Power. My guess is that Dean would DEFINITELY have looked through the Men of Letters records to try and figure out exactly which Dead Guy’s robe he was wearing. I mean, can you really see Dean “I’m gonna need to bathe in Purell” Winchester really just wearing the robe of some random dead dude? Not only wearing it, but kinda bonding with it? He loves that silly thing. It’s a nice robe and all, but really.

Seeing Chuck in that robe, though, was one of the major clues how just what extent Chuck was going to in his emulation of Dean. In case watching porn on Dean’s laptop, enjoying the water pressure in the shower, eating a powdered donut, taking over the kitchen, and everything else weren’t obvious enough. We all know that’s Dean’s robe. You don’t just sneak into another man’s room and commandeer his bathrobe. Especially not one that fandom identifies as “Dean’s Dead Guy Robe.” Heck, I’ve even written it into AU fanfic (yes, Project Beyonce Dean even owns the Dead Guy Robe).

And as a fan of Zorro films, trust me, Dean knows who Tyrone Power is. HE PLAYED ZORRO

That last link there? Google “Tyrone Power’s Movies” and it’s the FOURTH link, below the IMDb link and two Wikipedia links. So it’s not like it’s some obscure factoid you have to go internet spelunking in order to unearth.

So this one article of clothing that Dean seems to love originally belonged to a bisexual man. And was borrowed by openly bisexual Chuck. And is currently owned by Dean.

*stops for 10 minutes to stare at a tree and think about Dean’s Zorro fantasies in relation to the fact he probably knows that a bi guy who famously played Zorro used to wear his robe…*

Dean knows what he’s about. And so does Chuck.

reblogging today because I saw someone basically make this post a day ago and hi i made this five years ago thanks :’D

listen i love gardener cas as much as the next homo but i also think dean would get so into it. we all saw how excited he was to mow the lawn for his mom. he’s never had a space of his own, and even when they had the bunker they had no outdoor space or windows or anything. he’s going to the garden center with cas and learning all about flower rotation and when to plant bulbs in the fall and what flowers will bring insects and birds to their garden and how to build a bug hotel cause that would be a good project for jack. he even buys biennial plants because fuck it they’re still gonna be there in two years! in ten years! he gets excited to finally put down roots
