- know more about religion than the parents. they'll try to introduce you to christianity because you don't exactly look like a christian but your dad's an ex priest and has a phd in theology so *cracks knuckles* you'll correct them on every little mistake they make
- call your fake girlfriend every annoying petname under the sun. i'm talking about babu, shmoopie, snuffleupagus. when you run out of annoying english terms of endearment call her shit like "my liver" or "my little cabbage" (actual greek terms of endearments but the parents won't know this they'll just think you're annoying :3)
- to continue this, talk to your fake girlfriend in the most high pitched annoying voice possible but talk in your regular voice to everyone else
stare at her older brother's ass for just a little too long- have an annoying laugh. think of sybil fawlty but a stereotypical villain playing a church organ in his castle
- let them quote bible verses to you. then ask "so when were those two destroyed for sodomy?". it's very funny to do this when judas kisses jesus, and it's even funnier when you've just corrected them over a minor mistake in church history
- ask WHY abraham was begging for sodom. it doesn't make sense to you why a good christian man would go and beg for tha-
- be over possessive of your fake gf (dont really do this, it's just an act)

Plot points on this chart to represent how important these different aspects of a character’s life are to them. By doing that you can help determine what type of things your character deems to be most meaningful in their life, especially compared to others aspects.

Other tips for cheaper books is checking amazon and scrolling down to the “buy used” or “other sellers” section and then checking to see if those sellers have storerfonts off of amazon.
There is also a good chance that you might have a local, indie book store that likely also has a used book section! Indiebound might help you find those book stores!
Also, check out your local library, sometimes, they have a for sale section or might have certain times of the year where they do massive used book (dvd, cd, etc) sales to fundraise!
(It’s also worth checking directly from an author’s or publisher’s page and seeing if they have other places they sell their books. I know this is about cheaper/used books, since some of y’all aren’t built for piracy or the library, but also if you want to dodge supporting amazon AND want to more directly support artists you support, there’s a good chance they might have alternate ways to buy the books!)

when i was a child, my parents told me our houseplant would die of lack of sunlight. i was so young i don’t even remember this, but apparently, my response to this was starting to carry the plant around like an emotional support stuffed animal. whenever my family went outside i would hold the pot on my head to make it reach the sun better. i wasn’t in school yet, didn’t have any exposure to the lessons on caring they give in elementary, i don’t remember my thought process - but i can guess. kids integrally care about things, even tiny bugs and inanimate plants. humans care.

This is an incredibly sobering thought but is not outside of the realm of possibility: if anyone from the striking unions dies, either from picketing in extreme weather conditions or from losing access to resources they need to survive, we have to hold the studios accountable.
But most importantly if news of that coming true in any sense arises, please respect the families and their wishes and any statements from the unions about how we can continue supporting them. They will inform us of the strategy, as it's likely they've considered this possibility as well and planned for such cases.

Studios are removing shows and movies from streaming services like it was nothing, all while telling us that “You don’t need to pirate stuff anymore, it’s available legally!”
Writers and actors are being denied residuals because the studio heads don’t view them as people, all their hard work is being thrown into the ether because a CEO needs to save up money for a yacht.
Like it or not, piracy is becoming a necessity at this point. As a lot of the shows and movies that are being taken down would be lost forever right now if someone hadn’t pirated them.
In all kindness, f*ck anyone that doesn't take the strike seriously. The fact that people think that the writers and actors of their favorite shows don't deserve living wages, and they would rather bootlick studio execs who don't give two shits about them is absolutely delusional.
I can understand being indifferent to the strike, though I don't agree with it. Some people just don't follow show business, and the writing process in particular, and don't really know what's going on. Okay fine whatever.
But to actually be opposed to the strike, harassing writers and supporters online (and hopefully not in person) saying they are just being whiny entitled brats who should just get a real job, you've got to be a unique breed of scum.

Now imagine you want to try to change that, because you want to keep working at your dream job that you've worked your whole life to get, but your boss just says, "nah, you can lose your house and starve, I want to keep all of the money we earn" so you decide to go on strike, to protest a change to the system in a changing world. But some ignorant people on the internet just tell you to give up and just go get another job. Forget about all of your schooling and training and years of experience in your chosen field, these losers on the internet don't think that means shit, because you're being a whiny baby for standing up for what you believe to be honest work. Kindly put yourself in their shoes and shut up
