Mila von Luttich, Die Hexe (The Witch), for ‘Die Muskete’ magazine no. 790, 1920
In 1930 the Indiana Bell building was rotated 90°. Over 34 days, the 22-million-pound structure was moved 15 inch/hr… all while 600 employees still worked there. There was no interruption to gas, heat, electricity, water, sewage, or the telephone service they provided. No one inside felt it move.
This is a rainbow kitchen, I have friends of friends that were on it.

I wrote this song during the 2019 Winter Solstice in Georgia’s Chattahoochee National Forest. I felt at the time that there was something happening in the zeitgeist. That some great spiritual judgement was coming for my generation and especially my travelling friends.
It’s taken on a kind of eerie meaning in light of the recent #COVID19 outbreak.

Lyrics:
Lies I’ve told and lies I’ve sought let em’ lie, they’re all I’ve got And everything comes to an end even love and dearest friends God gives life and takes away the smallest joy in everything but do not despair my friend even pain come to an end even pain come to an end
For all the things we set aside: family, jobs, and narrow lives What is it that we have earned? petty freedom easily burns in the pyre of our soul to the kingdom never goes so dance in the flames my friend they all burn out in the end they all burn out in the end
They’re comin’ now with spades in hand to bury all that we have said you only can bring what is true we’re shedding all that we knew so come my friend now’s the time to the river we shall hide and drink from the rising tide fill your cup and save your hide fill your cup and save your hide

For the past year, performing music on the street has been my primary source of income. I can no longer do this due to the #COVID19 outbreak. Please consider supporting me via: PayPal or Patreon.
Thank you.
