I most definitely like the newer Spider-Man movie more than the older ones. One, they brought the science back to Spidey. Peter even with out his powers is a very capable scientist, something that the Maguire movies heavily negated. Two, they better portrayed Spider-Man’s dark side. When you see Garfield looking at the car thief, after webbing him to the wall, you can really sense malice. Maguire’s came off more as angry and violent, than straight up blood thirsty. The last thing I’d like to point out, the on-screen chemistry between Garfield and Stone worked much better than that between Maguire and Dunst.
This all said I still enjoy the earlier three and watch them on occasion. I also am not trying to insult Tobey Maguire’s acting abilities.

Friendly reminder that someone once asked Nina if she was engaged and she replied “I would be wearing a ring if I had been proposed to”.
And Ian added, “If it were true, I would admit it.”
Which means, she would say yes if Ian proposed to her.
