Splinter had always wanted kids, two to be exact, but after the whole mutation situation, he kissed that dream goodbye. Color him surprised when four little eggs rolled into his life. After a solemn, midnight talk takes place between Draxum and Splinter, Draxum decides he should give Splinter what he wants, I mean so much has been taken from him already— it’s the least he can do.
Leonardo is a loyal and compassionate turtle. He’s steady and calm and makes for an (almost) perfect leader and older sibling. She has an interest in space and anything potentially terrestrial. His favorite franchise is ‘Simon to the Moon!’ — he has all the episodes and movies recorded! She’s very protective of all her siblings and loves them dearly. She does not like Casey. He is a Pink Bellied Side-neck turtle.
Donatello is a studious, nervous turtle. Since the moment they poked their head out of his shell, he was a second away from a nervous breakdown. They spend a lot of time hauled up in their lab, working away at their latest and next greatest thing. When not in the lab, they can be found hovering around one of his siblings (usually Leo or April). He enjoys reading and problem-solving. And eggs, scrambled (with cheese preferably). They also really, really like Casey. They are a Diamondback Terrapin.
Raphael is a headstrong and sturdy turtle. She doesn’t take well to authority and would rather be on top. This often gets him in trouble. Though she usually lets the consequences of her actions roll off her shell. He has a bit of a temper and is easy to wind up. This usually results in someone getting bitten (cough Leo). Don’t worry. She always makes sure to apologize! She likes doing artwork with Mikey or wrestling him or reading comics with him— y’know what I think he really just likes hanging out with Mikey. He is a Narrow-bridged musk turtle.
Michelangelo is a creative and curious turtle. Not a thought behind those big ol’ eyes. Despite what he would have, you believe he is very observant. Nothing seems to get past him. He is very blunt (and his filter is nonexistent). He will tell you how it is— but only if asked, no one wants unwanted criticism! He’s an artist and likes to dress up in bright colors because he lacks them. He is a Black-breasted leaf turtle.
Baron Draxum is an intelligent and eccentric sheep yokai. He’s the creator of the turtle and acts as a second dad to them. He used to work for the High Council as an alchemist. He’s in charge of keeping cloaking spell over their home to keep them safe. The constant use of the spell has lingering effects.
Splinter is a recluse and quiet rat mutant. He acts as a fold to Draxum’s more nervously eccentric nature. He’s a very doting father and loves all his children dearly. His origins make him vastly overprotective of his four little ones. Due to this, the children had spent most of their life hidden away in a reclusive sewer-like cavern. But as one would say, things don’t say hidden forever.
April is a bold and inquisitive human girl. Knowing the turtles since she was super young she’s practically a sister to them. She’s a fan of mysteries and all things supernatural. She wants to be a reporter and wants to be able to get the top story in all of New York. This often leads her to commuting reckless actions. Good thing her mom and dad are doctors!
Casey (or Junior) is a mischievous, laid-back human turned weasel mutant. He ran away from home and has no plans on going back! His new doo makes that whole thing easier cause he can’t really go back. He spends his time lazing round the lair, either hanging out with Raph or picking petty fights with Leo. He thinks she’s funny (though he gets the hunch that Leo doesn’t like him much). He’s the catalyst to how the story begins.
