……… seeing people in my notes who seem to believe the only way workers could possibly be exploited is if they are not unionized, so obviously the solution that will automatically fix the problem is to form a union……………… hm.

the whole point of a union is it allows workers a mechanism for collective bargaining but that’s the thing. you still gotta do the bargaining!!! and after the contracts are in place you KNOW the bosses are still going to exploit their workers to the greatest extent they possibly can. people seem to think that forming a union is the end goal and while yes it is hugely important it is still literally just the first step in a CONSTANT neverending battle for workers’ rights

Mr. Gaiman, would it be crossing the picket line if I saw Barbie in theaters, or should I wait until the strike has been resolved?

No, it's not crossing a picket line to go and see anything. Nobody from any of the unions has asked for a boycott of anything yet.

Continuing to go see your movies, watch your shows, stream your favorites is one of the best ways to support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA right now. This content has been made, and it makes money. It helps immensely to show the studios the value of the work that writers and actors do.

If you don't go, it hurts writers and actors. Studios can say, "Well, actually, Barbie only made $X dollars, Oppenheimer only made $Y dollars, only so-many thousands of people watched Good Omens 2, obviously there isn't enough money to go around. Sadface emoji."

See the stuff you want to see with reckless abandon.

Been seeing a lot of book to film/tv adaptations of mlm stories recently and don’t get me wrong I am genuinely very happy about that, and I know it’s a big step and means a lot to a lot of people, but… it’s just a little disheartening that all the queer books they’re choosing to adapt are about cis gay men. I didn’t expect anything else obviously but just like maybe one sapphic or trans book adaptation would be nice.

Anyway lmk what sapphic and/or trans books you would like to see adapted to film/tv. I personally would love to see a tv show of The Burning Kingdoms series and a Last Night at the Telegraph Club film

I had a dream my life would be so different from this hell I’m living.

WELL. SO. I’ve been counting down for months and finally the ‘I Can See You’ video is out. I wrote this video treatment over a year ago and really wanted to play out symbolically how it’s felt for me to have the fans helping me reclaim my music. I had my heart set on Joey King, Taylor Lautner and Presley Cash starring in it. Joey and Presley had been in the video for ‘Mean’ when they were 9 and 13 and they are back and so ridiculously bad ass!! Taytay is INCREDIBLE in this (didn’t have a stunt double!) and shout out to Tay Lautner for being so awesome to hang with on set. The Tale of 3 Taylors 😆 I always wanted to direct fight scenes/a heist storyline and had the most incredible time plotting this out with my amazing DP Jonathan Sela. So proud of this one.

I would MURDER to be in the audience for the first ever performance of uksies for one reason only: to experience learning that Brooklyn is girls
