That Ed Greenwood post occasionally gets people defending Ed and so I figured I’d probably just go ahead and say that yeah making a fantasy femdom society isn’t that weird or objectionable to me but making it just cruelty for cruelty’s sake slavery but with a matriarchal bent is pretty messed up.
Oh also Ed’s fascination with exhibitionism is super weird because it leads into festhalls, the setting equivalent of a town meeting center, doubling as brothels which I can’t imagine that means you’d wanna take your kids there.
And finally the most objectionable of the set is Ed saying that incest is relatively normalized in the setting, that most people’s first time is with a family member. BUT with a fun new bent where it’s culturally taboo to produce a child from incest and that contraception is only really readily available to the middle class and up despite the presence of cheap gender alteration magic (hey that’s a pro at least) because he wanted to make an inbred hicks joke at some point in a book. Adding this one in post, “It’s only incest if the female partner gets pregnant”
