slow progress is still progress nonetheless. you are still creating change in your life and you are still doing your best. slow and steady wins the race, except this isn’t a race and the other people win too. everyone wins in the end regardless of what point in your journey you are at. you win because you are attempting change, you are making progress no matter how slow. you win because you are getting better.
you belong somewhere. one day, in some place (probably unknown to you now), you will feel at home. you will feel loved. you will feel like you belong, which is what you have been waiting for. it is coming please don’t worry about it too hard right now. when you are there you will know. i love you, you will feel at home soon.
Nobody else is watching you the way you're watching yourself. No one is evaluating or judging you like you're evaluating and judging yourself. Everyone else is far too preoccupied with their own flaws and struggles to scrutinize your every move. Find peace in this.
“Fill your life with the things that matter. The things that lie close to your heart. The things that make you feel wholesome. Because in the end, what do you want your life to be about?”
— Nicole Addison @thepowerwithin
You are not “behind” in life. Your journey is just different.
life doesn’t end at 25. life doesn’t end at 27 or 30 either. life doesn’t end at 35 or 45. life doesn’t end at 65. it doesn’t matter how old you are, when you decide to get your high school degree or start a family. it doesn’t matter when you decide to go run a marathon or go travel the world. life is not made up by numbers, age is, and your age is not all that you are. you got time. life doesn’t end until it ends.
just so you know
2020
if you have cried, felt alone, had your depression/anxiety worsen, and/or struggled to stay afloat without the support you deserve this year, then I pray that this last month blesses you with the light and strength you need to continue to push forward and not give up hope for a better tomorrow. may the upcoming new year bring much happiness, positivity, love, and growth to your life and may you never go by another minute without remembering just how resilient and beautiful you are. it may not seem like it right now, but good things are headed your way and you will feel warmth in your heart again.
“No matter how tired you are, how confused - you’ve just gotta keep living. And you’ve gotta have faith that, eventually, you’ll be glad you did.”
