A Rant on Why Following Hate Trains is Harmful + cancel culture in regards to Uzaki Chan

Hey guys it’s tohruofrock22 here and this is my first offical post on tumblr. Now I wanted to post some of my favorite fictional character art such as tohru Honda. But there’s been something that’s been bugging me for a really long time just to cut to the chase here. It’s the fact that since 2020 and Covid got on that year, there’s this trend that exists and that’s cancel culture. I’m sure all of you know what cancel culture is but for those who don’t know what cancel Culture is, I’ll explain in it as best as I can, cancel culture is a mob group of people who cannot handle anyone making huge mistakes, And thus judging people unfairly but also treating them like they are the devil even though the person they are canceling in question did something that’s a minor mistake that’s not a big of a deal. The twitter crews reactiom (cause that’s the site I’ve seen people do that), acts offended over something that’s a joke or a thing that’s too insensitive even though there’s no factual proof of it at all. I can come up with many exmaples but since I don’t care about celebritiy drama I won’t name them but I’m sure you can if you keep up with world drama.

Now this posts topic will be about why uzaki Chan hate bandwagon is dumb and harmful, before I start this rant I do wanna say, I haven’t seen the show myself but it looks pretty wholesome and funny so I’m a comedy fan I’ll plan to watch it someday this year, just maybe because I got a lot of anime to watch.

Uzkai chan wants to hang out, regardless of whether you love or hate the series, you’re gonna get backlash from a group of people who can’t handle someone having a different opinion from theirs. Now back when uzkai Chan first debuted in 2019 as a promotion for the release of the anime in 2020 there was a post on twitter which appeared to be the Red Cross with a uzkai chan Sticker or picture of it, and boy the quote retweets were very controversial to say the least, though only one got a bunch of replies and arguments and many tweets out of it. However that came nothing close to the actual post of uzaki Chan that promotes the trailer of the anime adaptation on twitter posts and that’s were people were out of control and give the most dumbest reasons why they hate the series. Ever since the anime came out it’s become popular to hate uzaki Chan and jump on the hate train calling it pedo bait without even watching it themselves, and this when shit really trimmed me up and started to bother me, not because I’ve seen it myself because again I haven’t seen the anime. But because of how and why this is happening, making posts and tweets hating uzkai Chan and calling viewers of the series pedos has been a dead horse at this point. And I checked the age uzaki is and where it takes place, it’s on a college setting and she’s 19, I don’t understand how in any way you can call viewers the p word in any sense of the world. What’s even funnier is one of the biggest uzaki Chan haters called This show pedo bait and claims anyone who likes this show is a p word, well guess what turns out he was a super smash bros player and he got exposed as a creep himself irl. Self projecting much? And considering that the smash bros community a majority of them (not all) are predators themselves, so what I was describing proves that this generation from what I know will cry about anything fictional and yet they don’t have a problem with the things they are doing, they themselves complain about anime irl. Oh the hypocrisy.

Now we established some of the dumbest reasons why people hate on uzaki Chan, let’s talk about some simple reasons why hate trains are harmful to follow.

1. I noticed that people been hating on certain media without seeing it or giving it a chance to judge its content fairly and objectively. Now let’s really think about that and what it means. In a lot of cases, it’s very important that you watch and expierence a piece of media before having a right to talk about it in a analytical way. For example if I want to analyze and talk about why death note could have been a masterpiece I would have to watch all the episodes before I do a big video on it because when you do a video on a certain show and form your opinion, you have to know a lot of it like story, characters and situations they go through and give facts to state your claims as to why. Selecting only certain cutscenes is not a indicator of doing a review of doing a whole video on why a certain media is good or bad and this goes for a a episode review. I would have to like read or watch the epsiode and review the episode scene by scene I mean all of it and not just talk about only certain number of cutscenes.

2. This also includes judging people’s right to either like it or hate it. For example if I do a video explaining on why I like sao despite is flaws and yet somehow I’ve been getting people on the comment section all over telling me I should never like it and thus hating it like everyone else in the world I’m like wow dude just bye. When something is widely hated it’s worse on the people who actually liked it. It’s not like saying liking it means that I think it’s good. It’s just saying that I enjoyed it depsite it’s objective problems. Yet they will think liking it means it’s good. There’s a difference between liking something and calming its a great media.

3. Now for the uzaki Chan example. Instead of flaming someone for liking the series, we could have a civil discussion and simply ask them they like it, that would create a dialogue and it would stop the circlejerk love or hate that many anime get over. For example if someone wakes up to me and said that shakugan no shana was their favoirte anime I’m not gonna give a shit. They got something out of it, good for them. If I watch the show and dislike it I’m not gonna come up to the person and make fun of her or him simply because I disagree . The thing is if we somehow erase uzaki Chan from existence, then shows that are far worse and more problematic would have its popularity. Uzaki Chan and rom-coms that are similar to it according to the mass social media site like twitter may be killing the industry but you know what kills it far more? Being a asshole to new fans who like these kinds of shows and driving them away from community and calling them pedos when they have been outed as a creep which they are self projecting. If you want to forget that uzaki Chan and other rom-coms similar to it that it exists, just watch shows that for your tastes by subbing to a anime streaming platforms or watch on a pirating site if that suits you, that would make a huge difference, where as blindly hating on uzaki Chan by continuously posting dumb misconception posts to get people to hate the series and shame anyone who likes it like typical mob twitter loves to do isn’t going to help Jack shit. You think that production committees in Japan cared they made a show that’s uncomfortable to you? Of course not it’s just fiction after All.

Conclusion is we all like a show that at least some people hate, hell we like some bizzare shows that we probably be looked down upon for watching. Don’t force people to view something the twitter community thinks down into peoples throats.

Rant Over

I have a lot of favorites, but if I had to pick my number one favorite, it would be Madoka Magica. Not just cause it's such a good anime, but also because if I never watched it, I would've never come up with my passion project Yokai Warrior Aki tbh.

Once upon a time, I had a copy of HeartGold, wherein I made it to the top of Mt. Silver to battle Red... and I lost terribly, and lost the game in a move before I could challenge him again. He's still up there, somewhere.

we need more magical girls in the world. i dont even care what genre it is, put magical girls in it and it’ll be 5x better. i mean just imagine the possibilities here

giant mecha magical girls. murder mystery story w/ detective magical girls. magical girl dating sims. sci-fi interstellar magical girls. magical girl jrpg. magical girl survival horror. magical girl first-person shooter. magical girl high school slice-of-life

Alt-talia: Student of China

Hello! This is for @hwsasiaweek ! Also for @historical-hetalia-week .

I guess this could be tangentially related to Day 6 “The sun shines for us all”, but I guess it applies more to Day 5: OCs, because the central character here is an OC. Though this fic focuses on the relationship between this OC and China, so maybe one could file this under Day 3: China, Vietnam too. But it covers too many prompts so I ultimately decided to submit under Day 10: Free day! For HHW, this is also Day 7: Free Day.

First of all, I’d like to introduce my OC; Father Korea, as I like to call him. He basically represents Korea before the split, specifically from Goryeo to the Korean Empire. I thought he’d represent Silla too, but after doing a bit more research I thought it would be best if Father Korea started as Goryeo. His human name is still being debated though, because it’s an artifact from when he was still Silla. My idea is that basically, North and South Korea, Hyun and Yong-Soo respectively, were raised by him as Egg Realms, realms in waiting.

Also, Alt-talia is still nationverse, but a bit AU. Characterizations are very different. This particularly stands out with China here.

CW: Drugs, mention of death at the end

jokes aside i think it’s amazing and heartwarming to see like 4chan incel bros perform the miracle of crawling out of that hole and becoming real human beings and chronicling their journey to realizing that they can be well adjusted happy normal dudes

Where’s the post about the guy who turned his life around bc of his shrimp? Bc that’s very relevant here

This guy. This makes me so happy

Hetalia Confession #1: Embargo in Hawaii

Except for Human AUs, I refuse to (and don't understand why people continue to) ship Ameripan, because I believe people who do are ignorant of the historical context of the relationship, Alfred's character, and what healthy relationships should be like. In what conceivable world is blitzing a key harbour of your lover, and then your partner releasing the first example of nuclear warfare on you, twice, considered a healthy way to have a disagreement? None! Not to mention, but Alfred's the type to hold grudges for an incredibly long time. They are friends now, at most.

people dont see it in the context of them being at war, but instead, them forgiving eachother afterwards. and clearly, in the modern day, theyve forgiven eachother, with them being good friends now. the fact that theyre good friends literally proves that alfred has gotten around his grudge???

the conflict of war followed by forgiveness is what creates an interesting dynamic. their personalities compliment eachother by clashing. i dont think that the two of them really wanted to bomb the other, thats something literally completely out of their control; theyre nations, beings entirely seperate from their governments.

and either way, nowadays theyre just besties who hang out n play video games and watch movies. they have a shared trust in eachother, and its proven with almost all of their interactions in hetalia.

Samurai Pirates is one of the projects listed in the link above! It's a new original 3D CGI magical girl TV anime produced by Picona and based off concepts from creative producer Ken Yoshida.

The plot is as follows:

The story follows a girl named Enne, a popular singer on the island of Takarajima who, through a strange turn of events, receives a pirate eyepatch bestowed with magical powers from a spirit called an “ometsuke” and is entrusted with the mission of purifying the hearts of people who have been transformed into evil beings called “oni.” Enne sets out on this quest together with 4 of her friends, forming a group called the "Samurai Pirates."

Instead of fighting with weapons, the Samurai Pirates use song and dance to purify the hearts of the oni they confront along their journey. The show is fun and filled with music, color, and action, but is suitable for kids of all ages as there is no violence or inappropriate content of any kind.
