my favorite thing about klaus is how inadvertently useful he is. he’s not even trying to help out or be a team player, yet he ends up being the 2nd most productive sibling in getting shit done. luther and diego run around acting like headless chickens constantly, and klaus just walks on screen looking like he just came back from hell (which isn’t far off from the truth) like “hey, here’s an extremely vital piece of information you guys have spent the past 3 episodes looking for—i’m gonna get wasted now.”

Writer’s should not feel bad for;

Not writing EVERYDAY… You deserve time to yourself, and to look after yourself.  You do not have to feel guilty for studying instead of writing a chapter.
Not posting a chapter on schedule… I understand, you may have writer’s block. And you don’t want to give your reader’s a rushed chapter.  THAT . IS . OKAY
Typing/Editting in a slow process… This will let you get your thoughts together. It’ll help create new idea’s for your story and characters.
If you ate the last piece of comfort food… You deserve to be happy. Not guilty.

Headcanons of being Five Hargreeves’s friend and him being protective of you because you’re blind

BEING FIVE’S BLIND FRIEND, AND HIM BEING PROTECTIVE OF YOU: 

  • Five is not really the type to have friends
  • He’s more of a lone wolf type, and would much rather rely on himself for  things rather than turn to other people
  • Which is why, when Five brings you to the Hargreeves mansion one day and introduces you to his siblings as his friend, everyone is shocked
  • “Can someone just repeat that for me? Did Five just say he has a friend? I might be too high for this.” “Yes, Klaus, I have a friend.” 
  • Five doesn’t really get into the details of how you met, and it seems like you just randomly popped into his life from his sibling’s perspectives
  • Being the only one Five really listens to, because he actually cares about your opinion
  • But that doesn’t mean you don’t but heads from time to time
  • Five always bouncing ideas off you, or often having to listen to his stream of consciousness, as he has a tendency to ramble on when he’s trying to work things out in his head
  • He appreciates you, though, for being such a good listener, as you often help him through things that’s bothering him
  • Five always giving you a warning before he’s about to teleport the two of you somewhere, because even if you can’t see it happening, there’s still a strange sensation
  • Five always getting testy when people ask you about your blindness, even if it’s just out of curiosity, because he feels as though you shouldn’t waste your time having to repeat yourself over and over again
  • “y/n doesn’t have time to answer your stupid questions.” “Five—”
  • Him being overly protective of you at times, especially when the Commission starts coming after him, just because he doesn’t want you to get hurt
  • “Five, I’ve been able to handle whatever comes my way long before you came along. I’m okay.” “I’m just taking extra precautions.”
  • Getting along with the rest of the Hargreeves siblings quite well, much to Five’s annoyance
  • He’d just prefer to keep you and his family separate, and he also doesn’t like leaving you alone in a room with Klaus because he doesn’t know what nonsense Klaus will put you through
  • Although, secretly, Klaus is your favorite sibling out of all of them
  • Even though on the surface it doesn’t seem like you and Five are that close, there’s a lot to your friendship that just goes unsaid
  • You know that Five trusts you, even if he doesn’t say it
  • And you also know that he’s grateful to have you as a friend, just as you’re grateful to have him

types of healthy coping skills

1. self-soothing

comforting yourself through the 5 senses

Touch: stuffed animals, stress balls, taking a bath, a soft blanket
Hear: music, audio book, guided relaxation
See: snow globe, glitter, calming images, art, anything that pleases you visually 
Taste: tea, mints, gum
Smell: lotion, candles, incense 

2. distraction

removing your focus from the stressor for a period of time

puzzles, art, crafting, reading, movies, gaming, exercise, being social

3. opposite action

doing the opposite of the impulse that aligns with a positive emotion

affirmations, inspiration, lighthearted and encouraging focus

4. emotional awareness

identifying and constructively expressing what you’re feeling

journaling, listing emotions, using a emotional identification chart, drawing, therapy

5. mindfulness

centering and anchoring yourself to the present moment

meditation, guided relaxation, yoga, breathing exercises, candle gazing, going for a walk

6. ask for help

this is important to do when you feel like your coping skills are not enough or they are too negative and detrimental  

therapy is ideal for helping a person create a healthy coping strategy and incorporate it into their life 

*a coping skill is considered healthy if it helps you to deal with stress more positively, does not hinder your progress, and isn’t harmful physically or mentally. A coping skill can become negative when it is used to completely avoid dealing with the stressor.
