I'm going to start a cult of ignorance.

"Yeah! Reject knowledge and science! Woo!"

What? No, I meant to ENCOURAGE science with the acceptance that we are all ignorant of the majority of what there is to know, and…

"YAY NOT LOOKING STUFF UP!"

Now I remember why "no cults".

I think of introverted and extroverted as ways to describe people with certain traits, but it's not like you have a literal character sheet in which one or the other is checked.

They help convey general ideas of how people can tend to be, but they're not literal settings for us.

Which is a tricky thing about words in general.

Once you have a word for something, people might start to treat those words as literal things, as opposed to helpful words that help communicate things that would otherwise be more difficult and tedious.

Anyway, the words help convey that a person has at least some traits consistent with the definition. It does not define the person.

Something weird to think about is this:

How many things that seem very obvious to you…

Wouldn't be obvious to you…

If someone hadn't told you, or you hadn't had a very specific experience making it obvious?

How actually "obvious" is that obvious thing?

An alchemist from Skyrim runs up to you.

"Canis Root, Mora Tapinella, and Imp Stool.

You're welcome."

They then summon a skeletal horse and ride off into the sunset.

(This is a recipe for Paralysis + Lingering Damage Health)

One of the worst things about compulsively checking things is the 1 times out of 50 in which it actually pays off.

My Brain: "See? You SHOULD quadruple check stuff!"

Absolutely horrified that a 4-year university is hiring a dude with no PhD (presumably, since Arthur referred to him as Mr.) and no recent teaching experience on the basis of a brief test. It's a lot like someone practicing as a doctor without going to medical school. Is this an example of you just sort of taking liberties with the world? Or is Moperville University just that desperate?

Liberties, but with an asterisk.

Your opinion is valid, but it’s worth remembering that one of the main characters is part squirrel. There could be some oddities in how the world in general works.

That said, I considered giving Tensaided that title. After VERY briefly looking into it, I wasn’t certain if I should. Given the established history of the comic, at a minimum, Tensaided chooses to go by “Mr” (if he could legitimately go by Dr, going by Mr could be to make himself more approachable as the owner of the rental store, and just in general).

If it actually would be appropriate for him to have a PhD in film studies, that could still be a thing. It’s implied he has an “appropriate” level of education, after all.

The reason my looking into it was brief was because I was seeing different options for recognition of mastery. It seemed like more than I was prepared to devote time to at that moment, and it wasn’t something that desperately needed immediate settling.
