Well this is interesting. The new icons all seem to have location specific backgrounds, but Eddie’s is the same as Vecna’s. Yes in the show he died in the upside down, but he was with the Hawkins group the entire time! Why not give him that background? Why give him the same as Vecna? The questions keep piling up
Late to the party because I rolled out of bed about an hour ago 😂 I hope it's okay to sum these up in one post because they're all making the same, absolutely perfect point: the location-specific colors. But they're not really location-specific but more specific regarding which "team" the character belonged to 👀 As one of my lovely anons pointed out, El is green because she has her own story line, is her own team; Cali has yellow, the Russia Squad has blue, the Hawkins Heroes have purple. That’s definitely not a coincidence but a very well thought-out and intended pattern matching their individual POSTERS.
El, like her icon, is the only one with a green background because she's her own team this season, matching the theme of not belonging anywhere and feeling alone.
All the Russia Squad members have a blue background like their icons.
Same for Cali.
Same for all the Hawkins Heroes - EXCEPT EDDIE. HIS COLOR SWITCHED. HE HAD PURPLE LIKE THE OTHERS AND NOW HUS BACKGROUND ISN'T PURPLE ANYMORE BUT DARK TEAL LIKE VECNA'S AND HE'STHE ONLY ONE MATCHING VECNA. HE. SWTCHED. TEAMS.
