british terf was so incensed by the iconic banger of an image above to the point that she printed it out and seriously brought it up in british parliament, trying to lump it together with a broader discussion regarding verbal violence and death threats on social media platforms (oh the irony)

even more recently: jkr is seriously pressed about this exact same image on twitter and claims it’s literally exactly the same as anti-suffragette political cartoons. lily is far more powerful than i ever realized in the battle against british terfs

I was evicted by my dad who basically committed one or two felonies to get my grandma's house when she died and left it to me and my brother in her will and I'm on disability so I couldn't stop him. So I had to move in with mom who's also on disability and the rent's gone up and the house is literally falling apart and we're really worried about not having gas water and electricity as the artic blast is supposed to put temperatures in the teens. So I'm expecting to be homeless again next month. $CamillaTheTC

So JK Rowling just launched Beira's Place, a DV shelter that specifically excludes trans women.

Why does it exclude trans women? You ask

Because they think that trans women might be attracted to the women there, and do something about that attraction

So now if you're attracted to women and trying to use a DV shelter, you could be turned away because you're attracted to women

61% of Bisexual Women experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Over half of lesbians reported being abused at some point in their lifetimes. TERFism and transphobia has also been shown to be overwhelmingly Racist, particularly when it comes to 'clocking' trans people.

This is horrific, but because it's TERF island they're getting away with it. The TERF movement has shut down multiple trans inclusive centres. The TERF movement is, and always has been, about the systematic removal of rights for trans people, gay people, and POCs. This is a nightmare.

If you give this woman money, it will go to transphobic causes. If you give this woman a platform, she will use it to boost transphobic causes. This isn't a "well nobody's perfect" or "well x other creator also did something bad once" situation, this is an inordinate amount of influence for a creator to have, and supporting her by word or wallet actively hurts trans people.
