Society. A poem by a regular girl.

Society is a pack of dogs nipping and bitting at my soul. Just because I'm not qualified for their definition of "perfect", I'm torn to shreds, my heart slowly eroding each and every day my flesh is critized. Because of society, I'm afraid of to walk out the door, petrified someone will laugh at me. Paranoia runs through my body when someone whisphers and smiles when I'm near, constantly thinking "Are they talking about me?" How can someone gain confidence and happiness by making someone feel like shit? "Your fat, ugly, and I hate you." Isn't that great to hear everyday? Society has made me want to take my life away... -L.H.
