Animators? Yes. Actors? If youre talking ppl like RDJ or Jamie Lee Curtis or what have you. They have more than enough fucking money. Take a look at one production cost and see how much these people are paid.
My dad is an actor/playwrite. He has to constantly search for new gigs to make ends meet, and even then ends up doing retail or lyft or doordash a lot of the time between gigs.
And my parents don't live in a huge house in New York or LA, it's a tiny townhouse in a really small city. My mom's the one who really pays the mortgage with her events organizer and house manager jobs at local theatres, and even then they struggle to afford living expenses. They used food stamps when I was a kid - not every month, but enough that I see it as a normal thing to do.
And when he does get gigs, especially like big tv gigs, working conditions are CRAP. He nearly got severe hypothermia once for having to jump in a freezing cold river in early winter from 11pm-3am, repeatedly, for a shot they didn't even end up USING.
Scheduling is abysmal, overtime is never properly compensated for, the jobs are DANGEROUS (mostly on a physical fatigue level), and work is contractual by nature. Are there some contracts that are ridiculously good? Yes, that's how contract-based work tends to happen for a lucky few.
But getting a contract like that is like winning the lottery, and even then they can be really exploitative if you don't have a kickass agent and/or a really good entertainment lawyer. There aren't really steady 9-5 full time acting jobs with benefits the way there are with other jobs. It's difficult to get any gigs in the first place, I cannot emphasize enough how much it is a constant job search.
And that's not even getting into the horrendous conditions and disrespect for voice actors. Actors should ABSOLUTELY go on strike

The top-paid members of an industry strike in support of better working conditions for their coworkers, not for more money. Neil Gaiman and George RR Martin aren't striking because they want or expect to be paid more, they're striking to support the entire rest of their industry because they care about it.

He called it method acting. He didn't bother to see if Kate could ACT as though the water was one-degree above freezing; he just called it right from the go and was like, hey, what if I make my lead actress spend several days getting in and out of BORDERLINE FREEZING WATER, so that it will look realistic.
Her chattering teeth and whole body tremors? Yeah, not acting. That was her body on the edge of actual real life hypothermia.
And look at the way they treat men these days with making them fast and dehydrate to the point of collapse, just so the director can get two seconds worth of a shot where their muscles and veins are all bulging unnaturally.
When he was filming Logan (I think it was Logan) Hugh Jackman literally DID collapse. One of the scenes of him all bare-chested and muscly and roaring angrily? Is a much shorter scene than it was supposed to be, because that's all they managed to get out of him before he LITERALLY PASSED OUT.
And these are the big name lead actors who are getting treated like this. If THEY are being treated so appallingly, what hope in hell do the smaller actors have of not being worked into the ground?

They should go on strike too because they support the improved conditions and pay for all those in their industry who ARENT treated well. Which is most of them.

when an intersex baby is born and they have what’s called “ambiguous genitalia” aka they have an intersex condition which causes them to develop a mix of traits from both male and female genitals, doctors will just pick which one it’s closest to and without consent from the parents and obviously without consent from this living human person that just got born, perform a permanently scarring cosmetic surgery to force the baby’s genitals to align with societies perspective of either male or female genitals. these surgeries cause lifetime medical issues and sexual dysfunction and are only performed because our medical understanding of intersex people was written by a bunch of bigoted genicidal monsters. And yes it’s genocide they are removing our ability to conceive children in almost all cases of these surgeries, on top of generally erasing us from public view by hiding our own existence from everyone Including us from birth. these surgeries aren’t well known about because parents literally aren’t told (my mom only managed to figure it out cuz she overheard the doctor talking to a nurse about it when she came down off her painkillers) and scientific literature on it is not only hard to read it sounds like fucking nazi shit so obviously most medical establishments don’t want it in public view. I had one of these surgeries performed on me, I literally don’t even know exactly what it was cuz it’s not on my medical records anymore but I have the scarring and still have uterine tissue so in compensation for our current human society systematically mutilating my body and genociding people like me I think I deserve some banger bazhoingas i think that’s fair

But Wait, There's More! everything i'm about to say is secondhand experience from an intersex friend i have known for years, who i will not be identifying for safety reasons. not only can they just completely remove it from your medical record, many hospitals are in practice of straight-up lying to the parents to excuse why they're taking the baby in for surgery. an extremely common excuse is saying the baby has a heart condition. if you or a loved one were taken into surgery for a heart condition at birth and the parents had no idea anything was wrong until said birth, i HIGHLY recommend inspecting your genitals for scarring and speaking with a gynecologist or urologist(depending on which you usually rely on) if something seems fishy. they can also mark you as the wrong sex on your birth certificate because of this, which can barr you from treatment you are legally entitled to! worse than that, getting that corrected is extremely difficult. even if the doctor who edited your birth was LITERALLY THROWN OUT FOR MEDICAL MALPRACTICE, the hospital - and state - will continue to refuse acknowledgement of the mistake and no correction will be made. this is a very notable issue in the UK, especially if you were wrongfully marked Male. another thing people are often unaware of is the rampant issue of medical CSA that occurs if an intersex child is decided Female. There's a medical procedure called Dilation where a hole is carefully stretched wider over a period of time for various reasons; on its own, this is not a bad thing, and can be necessary for several reasons. however, many "female" intersex children are put through Vaginal Dillation at a disturbingly young age. the idea is that because their vaginas are shallow or more closed off, it's better to stretch them for a few years so that they'll be able to have sex properly when they get married. the thing is, there is no wrong time to start dilation. if you start at 18, there is no drawback; in many cases it would actually be safer, and it only takes between 1 to 3 years to reach a desirable state, depending on the person. and yet, this is often done to children FAR below the age of consent, explicitly with the future marriage reasoning in mind. this is sometimes started at infancy. let's really think about that. a young girl who is too young to consent and may not get any say in the matter is taken to a doctor over and over again to have her vagina stretched out because it is expected that when she's older she'll marry a man and have sex with him. there is no non-creepy way to put that. there is no way to explain this that is not BLATANTLY sexual assault on a fucking child. and the worst part is, this is not legally recognized as SA or abuse in the majority of juristictions. and ALL of this should be given the extra consideration that a large chunk of intersex children begin to identify differently than they were assigned at birth, often BEFORE hitting puberty. intersex people make up roughly 2% of the world population by modern count. that's twice as many intersex people in the world as there are redheads.

Not because I want to spend my dollars on Pride merch sold by corporations that don’t care, but because the near-absence of corpo Pride is a canary in the coal mine. Corpo Pride is a barometer of sorts for social acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. If Corpo Pride goes away, it should be because being LGBTQ+ is so normalized and seen as “no big deal” that there’s no message to ‘sell’ anymore; but what’s happening now is NOT that.
What IS happening then? Because I'm confused
What is happening is not that corporations are winding down the Pride displays and merch due to Pride being no big deal anymore because we live in a society where LGBTQ+ people are just seen as the same as everybody else.
What is happening is corporations are staying away from Pride because public shows of acceptance of LGBTQ+ people now comes at a much higher cost. For corporations, that cost is monetary. For people, that cost is physical violence - and I'm not saying it's new that people have been violent towards the LGBTQ+ community. I'm saying the violence is now much more widespread, and isn't just aimed at the community anymore, but at anybody who either supports the community or LOOKS LIKE they might belong to the community. Corporations deciding not to display rainbow logos and merch is just a sign of how bad things have actually gotten in the last few years.
TL;DR : Corporations "supported" us when it was easy. That many no longer visibly do so means it's no longer easy to do it. That's not a good thing.
