The name Homoiselle (which was given to a baby girl born in 1874 and I can find no documentation of otherwise) consists of the prefix homo- meaning same or alike and the suffix -iselle taken from mademoiselle or -elle, a diminutive suffix for female names. So the name means something like familiar young lady. I really like the name. Would I name a child that? No. But definitely a good fictional character name.
