As someone who works at a movie theater I feel the need to remind people to please please please be courteous to movie theater staffs this weekend. There’s hasn’t been a double release of this nature since 2008 and theater staff are Going to be overwhelmed. Just show basic human decency please. Clean out your cup holders, throw your trash away, be patient at the box office and concessions, don’t be disruptive during the movie. We are trying our best but also most of us are working much longer shifts than usual with a lot less employees than usual and it’s a very thankless job even on the deadest of days. Just be nice please
Reblogging bc I worked an eight and a half hour usher shift yesterday (read: I’m the guy who cleans up after you) and found 6 pieces of chewed up gum in one cup holder with no wrappers or napkins or anything around it, just six bare ass naked pieces of gum, crushed up peanut shells all over the floor (we do not sell peanuts also what a fucking health hazard Jesus Christ have some awareness), toenail clippings (what the FUCK), and more trash than I’ve had to pick up during the rest of my time working here combined.
Spilled popcorn is one thing. We can sweep that up fairly easily, it’s what our little broom buckets are for. But leaving your popcorn bags, buckets, drinks, etc makes our jobs significantly harder. It slows down our cleans by a Lot bc we have to take that stuff out to the trash cans, it doesn’t fit in our buckets. On an usher shift during a slower day I walk an average of 5 miles. Yesterday during my barbenheimer shift I walked 8, and a lot of that was having to make multiple trips out to the trash cans per clean bc there was so much trash I couldn’t sweep up. The one time I tried to make it all in one trip, I spilled a half-full slushie all over my pants. I only got one break in all of this btw.
Please clean up after yourself. It’s the least you can do
