I love headlines like I’m sure the situation was more nuanced than this but this is just a funny situation to imagine it’s like a real life political cartoon

The worst part is that it's even LESS nuanced than the headline makes it seem. I assumed that she felt threatened by the people with chalk, but no.

And Susan Collins got home, saw it, called the police because of the "defacement of public property", police came and noted it wasn't a threat, and public works washed it away.

I literally couldn't think of a less threatening action. People show up, write a polite message that literally starts with "please" in a medium that is not only non-permanent but will be washed away on its own the next time it rains, and then dip. At no point are they even anywhere near her. Technically it wasn't even on her property!

This is "the right way to protest" if ever there was one. Doesn't even block traffic. And yet, she still wants the people who did it arrested. Seems like it's less about how you say it and more about them wanting to punish anyone who disagrees with them, huh? Seems like it might be pointless to try to appease them if we're treated as criminals no matter what, huh?

Really can't overstate how horrific it is that this person seems to see reproductive rights as an acceptable sacrifice to win elections. Liberals think about politics the same way people think about sports, where the only concern is seeing their team win and any material consequences affecting hypothetical other people are secondary at best

Your #1 concern right now should be getting real world people access to life-saving medication and procedures right now, as in going outside and volunteering and organizing with your actual human body, not fantasizing about winning elections later on to elect more democrats who will continue to do jack shit just like the democrats who are currently in power
