i’m having feelings again
you’ve heard about blue hair and pronouns. now get ready for grey hair and problems
making all ur faves fat btw. die mad about it
"ohh but this character is an athlete/survives in the wild so it doesn't make sense!!!!" L + ratio + don't care + you have a very narrow understanding of how the human body works + thin =/= fit + fat representation matters more than any fragile feelings you may have regarding internalized fatphobia + learn to draw bodytypes other than skinny people + wizard BLAST
Young man goes out, sees girls, one tries to kiss him not on lips but throat, Old Count interferes - rage & fury diabolical - This man belongs to me I want him.
What appears to be the earliest draft of the scene with the three girls. Found in Stoker's notes for the novel. Written on March 8, 1890 (one of the few dates for his notes we have).
Get in close. Light some fires. Kiss about it???? It's. It's like a metaphor or something.
Oh, I love this an inordinate amount.
This guy covers children's songs in the style of various artists, and he's incredible.
I'm weirdly emotional about it?
This is amazing!
This is the exact opposite energy of the "what happens after the camera cuts and you've destroyed you labtop for 5 seconds of entertainment"
This guy not only wrote a whole song but dressed up and FILMED it! For what! For 1 and a half seconds of MY entertainment! That must have been HOURS of shooting and editing! I'm touched, this is art
bro this rends flesh (new way of saying something is really good)
I love when there’s a really bending heavy episode because you just KNOW Sokka is about to get the dumbest C plot
They stuck that boy in a hole for 22 minutes
i do think it would be pretty fun to have blupjeans as a reverse orpheus-eurydice situation where lup is trying to live her life thinking her beloved is dead and barry is making repeated attempts to break out of the underworld for her and dying 1000 times
also though as soon as they meet the first time she starts trying to break INTO hades but shes too good at Not dying so they keep throwing her out the other end. they are repeatedly meeting each other partway through. it becomes a race to see which one's half they end up closer to each time. but they also really do want to be back together for real
kravitz does the thanatos thing (randomly popping up to give a boon based on a wager...)
the raven queen is the correct answer for hades (god of death) BUUUT if you want to give it some emotional weight it could be lucretia somehow. then RQ is nyx, which is still kravitz's mom and a very powerful entity. and lucretia's the final boss?
taako can't really be in the underworld if lup's up there (and he's probably the primary motivation for lup not just dying to be w/ barry) so he might be doing the olympian thing of granting boons. he does this chaotically and will absolutely grant barry advantages bc of the cain instinct and certainly no other reason
davenport would be in achilles' position i think... sidequest reunite him with merle maybe. orrr patroclus actually has more of a john vibe to me (it's the depression) for my 5 davenjohn likers out there
magnus n julia are another unite-this-romance sidequest probably. after they're united they set up shop somewhere and you get boons from how nice it is to rest in their awesome chairs. blupjeans truce agreement that they both have to stop to hang out with magnulia every time no matter if it cuts into their time b/c theyre friends and they don't want their competition to detract from that
Thinking bout how each episode title is somewhat referenced
- Pilot (doesn't count, since ya know, Pilot)
- A Damned Man (very clearly about Stede's inner guilt, so a main reference to the plot)
- A Gentleman Pirate (actually spoken aloud)
- Discomfort In A Married State (an actual quote in history by one of the people that knew irl Stede)
- The Best Revenge is Dressing Well (whimsical almost, in how it referenced the plot of the episode)
- The Art of Fuckery (literally all about fuckery, which is interesting when you think about the confessions Ed makes in the same ep)
- This is Happening (literally in reference to a quote in the ep and the actual meta of them confirming the main leads relationship)
- We Gull Way Back (fun pun about Calico Jack and Ed's relationship)
- Act of Grace (a main plot device in show)
Which is what makes the last episode title, "Wherever You Go, There You Are", a bit different.
Whether quoted or referencing what's to come in the episode, each one is very witty on how it's tied to the shows main plot. The last one is different in a way I can't describe. Sure, it's about Stede and Ed not being able to let go of each other in their lives (even if they try to), it's such a mysterious way to put it.
Like, "Wherever You Go, There You Are" makes it so it isn't saying it about each other - it's saying it about their own selves. The rest of the episode titles are direct, simple to understand, about the plot - this is so much more metaphorical, cause its about the characters, the overarching narrative, and it stands out from all the rest
This is all to say that I wholeheartedly believe this'll be an actual quote someone says in s2, cause they made it this title on purpose
I was so confused by the title of episode 10 till I had this same epiphany! It’s about not being able to run from who you are for better or worse. Stede realizes this and decides to finally face it, while Ed in vain starts running harder than ever before
“This character is dead in canon” to you. They’re dead in canon to you. To me they’re fine
“This character is dead in canon” then explain to me why they’re still running around and living rent free in my head.
