Why was there so much panic over Spider-Man being being a parent among editorial when Sue Richards, Wolverine and Luke Cage didn't have their popularity affected and the father/son dynamic between Cyclops and Cable is one of the best parts of X-Men to me? It seems like when done well, the added responsibility and character dynamics are actually a benefit to the series.

Spider-Man is about youth, and it’s difficult for a character to be about youth when he has a child of his own. That’s a fundamental difference from Sue, Wolverine, Luke and whomever else.

Exactly, those millions of 12 -18 year old readers can’t relate to a hero with a kid.
