Viren is a human and therefore not connected to a Primal source, which is why only after using a spell did he manage to look inside the magic mirror.

However, Runaan is an elf, so it would make sense for him to be able to see inside it. So while Viren was asking him about it, as Runaan looked into the mirror, who knows what he saw - perhaps he saw Aaravos, staring back at him.

And since Aaravos didn’t have to use a spell, I think it’s safe to assume he could already see on Viren and Runaan’s side. (Which is why at one point he tested Viren to see if he could see him too.)

Im just picturing like Runaan seeing Aaravos on the other side and Aaravos fucking fortnite dancing or smthin whilst Runaan desperately tries to keep his cool before just straight saying it’s worse than death

Basically what happened is Assassin's Creed Odyssey forces Kassandra or Alexios to have a baby with someone of the opposite gender in the game.

If you turn down the romantic advances of the person you are still forced to have a child with them which brings up some big issues with consent. If you play Kass or Alexios as gay (which is a possibility Ubisoft bragged about pre-release) they still forced to have that baby.

Then the original trophy for having this baby the game forces on you no matter the choices made by you, Kass or Alexios was called "growing up." A phrase that was particularly insulting to the bi, gay and lesbian folks playing the game but also pretty patronizing to anyone who was playing a Kass or Alexios who had made choices to avoid this outcome for whatever reason throughout the game.

So, there's a summary of the most common complaints from LGBT folks. Of course, a lot of gamers regardless of identity dislike this simply because a game marketed as being built around choice took away your and the character's ability to make one of the most life altering choices of all: whether or not to have a child.

You’re still making people who played as gay characters fuck someone of the opposite sex. It’s super homophobic. Making it “utilitarian” doesn’t change that. I was planning to buy the game soonish (I’m saving every cent for something very important to me rn) so I’m not even the most affected, but can’t we have one game for fuck sake? I loved watching all my friends playing this cool lesbian assassin and then watching them deflate is just so shitty and it happens ALL THE TIME. I’m personally not buying another Ubisoft game until and unless it’s fixed. I’m planning to have kids. I have nephews and a much younger brother. They’ll be getting games from other companies. I don’t have much power. I can’t force them to fix it, but I can not give them money so that’s what I’ll do.

I read Hamlet back in high school and to this day my absolute favorite thing about it was when Guildenstern was trying to fool Hamlet into doing something or other and Hamlet’s savvy to it but rather than saying “you’re lying and trying to trick me” instead Hamlet outta nowhere whips out this flute and tells Guildenstern to play it.

And Guildenstern is all “I dont know how to play a flute, my lord”

And Hamlet takes a dramatic pause before he absolutely ruins Guildenstern with, “Well thats funny considering you thought you could play me”
