so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god

okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now i’m thinking….maybe this is the good luck post

…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment

basically, i think the general rule of thumb is: if someone REALLY wants the blood that’s inside of your body, and they’re like… a vampire, or a dracula, or some sort of mansquito, then that’s probably okay. a dracula and a mansquito are made for removing things like blood and swords from inside your body. that’s basically fine.

if something wants to get at your blood, and they’re, say, some kind of murdersaurus, or maybe a really big frog, that’s where the problems start to arise. a really frog is not made for removing blood, and your blood knows this, which is why it is so vehement about wanting to stay IN your body instead of coming out. 

unfortunately this will not deter a really big frog, because a really big frog is full of things like prizes, and value, and quite a lot of hatred, and it would REALLY rather like to replace any and all of those things with your blood, and basically by any means possible.

I highly believe 2020 is going to be a great year for everyone. It’s like a new chapter, a new era. This upcoming year will be full of abundance, new relationships, new opportunities, positivity, and wealth. I guarantee it.

He does want to help Armed Forces not just be a gross killing machine, but learn the Arts and the things that made him a better person.

You are judging him on choices he made at eighteen years old, and things he said almost six years ago, dude. Not everyone who joins the military is a fucking asshole who wants everyone to die. People change and grow, and call me a fucking bootlicker, but maybe attack the actual military for putting this mindset into people, and not the people themselves when they haven't done anything wrong.

Reminder that the Queen is still immensely wealthy while austerity measures mean that pupils in Wales have to go to school hungry and be fed out of pocket by teachers. One teacher in the article I linked said that this was the most poverty he had seen after 25 years at the school.

Death tolls are underreported on purpose as an excuse for US, UK, Saudi Arabia, etc. involved to downplay the conflict. This has even been pointed out in mainstream media outlets as I linked.

We have not received any major updates on death since these. If you search “Yemen death” in recent news in the US, you’ll actually get articles about the US state department targeting Iran for suppression of protests with much higher than highest estimated death tolls from orgs that even also oppose Iran (interesting how we see that for Iran and not even actual high death tolls for Yemen). If only concern was genuine and not an excuse for profit-based intervention like usual.

FYI the US is still siding with Saudi Arabia here and when John Bolton was asked about the human rights hypocrisy he brushed it off as irrelevant.

Can Americans please not bring Irish Gaelic names into white names discourse?

Irish is the native language of Irish people. It’s an ancient language that is on the brink of extinction as a direct result of colonialism and cultural and physical genocide.

Names like Saoirse (freedom), Áine (radiant), Aoife (beautiful) etc are traditional Irish names. They’re spelt “funny” because Irish is a different language from English, and has some sounds that aren’t found in the English language.

It’s not the same thing as edgy white Americans naming their kid Kathylyn instead of Kathleen to try to be different

Also it's not even called Irish Gaelic it's called Gaeilge (gayl-ga) and is its own language, a beautiful one at that, fully encourage everyone interested in language revival to try learning it because we're losing it rapidly and there's not many Gaeilgeoirí ("gayl-gor-ee" ie: fluent speakers) left

Look you cant. hate children. Theyre some of the least autonomous people on the planet. They have very little control over their surroundings and what ppl do to them. Theyre scared and annoyed and the really short ones cant even open doors, so you can imagine the stress theyre under. And the younger the child the freakier it is to hate them.
