The lack of skvaders is particularly frustrating when you realize it forms the third point of a wonderful cryptid trifecta.

You got the jackalopes, which are rabbits with antlers.

And you got the wolpertingers, which are rabbits with antlers and wings.

And then… what? Do you escalate? That’s unbalanced, those two rabbit cryptids don’t have the same number of extra things, the wolpertinger is clearly the jackalope But More.

BUT with the skvader on the other side, balance is restored. Antler rabbit, winged rabbit, winged antler rabbit. It’s a classic Venn diagram of imaginary lapine beasts, and it’s only complete if you acknowledge the fucking skvader.

Good thing Ursula’s got our back, at least.

Every super powered setting has got internal and external power rankings. It's high time we have one where the gimmick is that the power rankings are internal to in-universe agencies but the actual superhuman powers are all equivalent, and the question of "rank" is actually only reflective of the simplicity of the power multiplied by the creativity of the wielder.

So in The World Ends With You, every powerful person has a psyche. Which is a way they're able to manipulate a catalyst. For example, one character's catalyst is their stuffed toy and their psyche is making it fight. Someone else's catalyst is a pin set and his psyche lets him cast spells based on what the pins depict.

However ones ability to use their psyches effectively is directly tied to their imagination. Both in the sense that those with strong imaginations can use their psyches in more useful ways, but the actual tangible strength of their powers is tied to how imaginative they are.

And it leads to this power structure based on extreme uses of imagination. Power hungry low ranking members will try to out-scheme their higher ups. But because they're super powered the schemes end up being 'Trying to overpower your manager by dying and infusing your body with the power of haunted J-Rock' and 'turning an entire city into a hivemind by manipulating fashion trends.'

Is this like a ttrpg thing? I am interested.

Don’t let anyone ever tell you that we NEED the Electoral College because “without it New York and LA would just pick our presidents!”

No single city, no group of cities has that population. The TOP 10 cities in the US have a combined population of 28 million. Out of 328. That’s roughly 8% of the population. 

If you add up EVERY SINGLE CITY with more than 100,000 people in it (Which is 311 cities), that’s still only 94 million. 28% of the US population.

So this idea that the popular vote would give power to just a few cities isn’t supported by the facts.

On the other hand: Two-thirds (273 of 399) of the general-election campaign events in the 2016 presidential race were in just 6 states(Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Michigan).   94% of the 2016 events (375 of the 399) were in 12 states. While 24 States received 0 visits. Because of the winner-takes-all Electoral College system, candidates can ignore any state that is “safe” and instead completely focus on  big cities in swing states. 

Also, people aren’t worried about the urban vote. They are worried about the “urban” vote.
