Sharecropping.

FYI if your employer does this, if they have done it for a long time especially, you and your coworkers could be owed huge amounts of unpaid wages and it would be an easy suit if there is a paper trail like this and your employer is placing strict requirements on your behavior while not at work. Employment lawyers generally work on contingency. Just food for thought.

After hearing about how Larian lets your Act 1 interactions shape the later game, the thing I’m hoping for beyond all hope is with this dude

This stupid little artist that got himself enslaved by the Zhentarim. Right now, You have a few options to free him and he says he will repay you later on. When we meet again in Baldur’s Gate, I want to be able to commission him to do a portrait. Perhaps, for one of my companions that can’t remember what he looks like and is physically unable to remind himself.

Please let this dandy indulge in petty vanity once again.

Please….

Paladin and Barbarian standing side by side. Paladin: Ever see someone and wanna bite them, but like respectfully? *clicking teeth a few times making a playful biting motion as they stare off at someone or something off the screen.* Barbarian: *Looks about them a little alarmed* Paladin: *still looking off* I don't care what anyone says bitting is a love language.

Sometimes internet reminds me that dudebro part of BG3 community exists (ew) and I witnessed an entire discussion that Shadowheart is actually the worst person alive and if she was male everyone hated her +people love her just because she's attractive

Yeah i totally can see pretty_gloomy_mysterious_goth_half-elf_i_can_fix_him being a very unpopular and hated by community character 🙄🙄🙄 no shit 🙄

Speaking of the "I can fix him" poster child, the amount of homophobic hatred towards Astarion is unreal. They don't always come out and say it, but the mental gymnastics they go through to try and justify killing him on sight because they're this "good Tav" is laughably so transparent at times.

I don't comment so much anymore or keep it short and just downvote toxic dudebro comments and upvote other pro Astarion and other compaions ones at this point.

I just have trouble understanding the amount of energy some put into hating on any of the companions. I think the only one I come close to hating is Mithara, but it's not personal or full-on hatred. I simply am horrified by what we need to do to get her and her other actions. From the cut scenes I've seen, I actually pity her and all who have been brainwashed into the cult of the Absolute.

It's not just homophobia, or biphobia. A lot of it is misogyny because they hate that female fans like him. Remember the Twilight hate? They hated it because it was so popular with girls (and I don't even like Twilight). Oh, and Astarion is not even typically masculine, even though he is a killer, hides his feelings and is smooth AF (I know, I know, we joke about it but he brought Caz dinner every night thanks to his seduction schtick). He cannot be further from a dudebro and girls still like him. How awful.

Anyway, they really are pathetic with the same lame excuses why they hate him and they must (MUST) kill him on sight.

Oh dear god it so depressing reading how some of these people interpret these characters.  “He tried to kill me when we first met.” He reacted quite literally the same way Lae’zel did, and like Lae’zel he puts the knife down and works with you when it’s clear you’re not a mindflayer thrall.  “He complains whenever I help someone and only approves me torturing puppies with cancer.” Then why does he approve you helping Karlach, or when you spare Ethel, or when you feed the owlbear cub? He’s bitter about not being rescued while he was a slave but he’s not a 1 dimensional villain, come on. “He’s a liability! He’s most likely to betray us/be a danger to the party.” He has been the most upfront of any of the companions about his past. If you tell him you don’t want him to bite you he stops and doesn’t push.  None of that contradicts the fact he’s definitely on the evil side of the alignment chart but why are you acting like it’s not extremely clear there are paths for him where he gets better???? None of the characters are static. They’re going to grow and change with you
