Haou turned his head back to Lapis, his hand subconsciously taking Lapis’ hand in comfort. He shook his head briefly, “Don’t apologise. I’m just- I’ve done a lot of bad things that are hard to come back from And I-” He laughed nervously.
“I don’t take kind words well anymore…. You’re right… Thank you…” Haou admitted, a small smile returning to his face.
Lapis smiled at him “i understand ” he gave a small laugh “I’m not too good with my words anyways i often end up stearing them the wrong way but I’m glad i could help” it was then that ruby carbuncle appeared placing herself on lapis’s lap “nice of you to join us Ruby”
“Long time no see, Ruby. How are you?” The king held a hand out to the carbuncle to examine before he tried to pet her. He wasn’t sure how fond she’d be of him since his aura was much darker than when he called himself Jougo. That was two lifetimes ago for Ruby.
“Are the rest of the Crystal Beasts doing well?” He inquired to both Lapis and Ruby. He hoped that this timeline didn’t ever feature their advanced form.
He was a little surprised to see that haou knew ruby. The carbuncle was a little cautious at first but seemed to lift her head up to the others hand maybe Ruby seemed to forgive more easily than the others "they're fine if they weren't with me I'm not sure I would be coping as well as I am" lapis gave a small laugh "they're more of a family than academia would ever be to someone like me"

“There’s the spirit!” Haou smiled, “You know, in your last life, your ancestor, Johan, was the one who got stuck in another dimension. But Judai basically moved heaven and earth to get him back. It took a bit, but they made it through.” Haou told Lapis.
Hearing this made lapis smile slightly it seemed judas was as sweet as he was in his previous life “i guess the bond is eternal although it seems the roles have been reversed”
The king chuckled, thinking of the multitudes of trouble their souls had gotten into over each lifetime.
“The bond certainly outlasts whatever Fate seems to through at is. To be honest…I may have not been helpful at first last cycle, mainly because I had no memory when Judai showed up to my realm.” He admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.
The smile grew “i like to think that the bond we have is eternal even if we change form no Matter the distance although it seems you built a bond with judai from the sound and things even if you had no memory”
Thinking back on his initial experiences with Judai, the king couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt at how he’d manipulated his descendent all for a card.
“We did build one, it took a bit after I abused the situation for my own gain… It’s weird, I feel like I was just talking to him, but now I’m here. It’s odd to think the Judai I know isn’t…” He trailed off as he realised the implications of finishing that sentence.
He felt the sadness haou was feeling and sensed what he wanted to finish “isn’t really well the one you knew and living now and I’m sorry for that”
Haou couldn’t find words for a moment, he didn’t like the idea of Judai being gone. Why couldn’t any of his incarnations catch a break?!
“He’s alive in my dimension so it’s okay…” He muttered, uncertain. “He’s tough, he’s a good kid too, but he’s been through a lot because of mistakes I made…”
haou had comforted him now it was time for lapis to return the favor by helping haou “well some people say mistakes make someone who they are and that applies to you both”
Raking his fingers backwards through his hair, Haou sighed and nodded in agreement as a memory skipped across his mind. He looked away from Lapis, seeing his face made Haou nostalgic and his heart beat differently.
“I guess I’m made of mistakes then…” He admitted, his voice far away.

ok i’m not sure if i shared this with anyone but bella but for those who’ve seen that lapis has a red scarf well here’s a plot twist it use to be judas’s he gave it to lapis incase anything happened and they got separated he wanted him to keep it as a reminder of him. well obviously to nobody’s surprise only lapis escaped lil swap around from the spirit world in GX where johan doesn’t make it back
on the note of their neckwear judas has a ruby necklace around his neck which is his from a young age when he is stuck at academia he sometimes looks at it as a reminder of lapis
i swear the rest of the spiritshipping boys need to have something that reminds them of one another literally why hasn’t this been done before ???!

He nodded in acknowledgment of what haou was saying “that’s understandable” he gave a sigh “i really want to help him but i don’t know how and it gives me a slight feeling of hopelessness..”
“Hey, hey, hey, Lapis don’t think like that. We’re going to figure out a way to help him. And until then, you can help him by having faith it’ll work out.” Haou said quickly, throwing his arm around his Lapis shoulder’s in an attempt to console him.

He gave a weary smile of appreciation to haou “must do i guess…If you knew what he was like before this life” he gave a slight sigh before saying “thank you. Your like him a lot”
“Am I now?” Haou flashed a smiled at Lapis, removing his hand slowly, “Nice to hear he’s a chip off the old block. Is he still fighting with Fusion monsters do those work with pendulum dueling?”
“from what i know each dimension uses a different summoning method well other than me.But yes he still uses fusion if he didn’t he would probably of ended up in another dimension”
“All these dimensions sure have a lot of rules, jeez,” Haou acknowledged, pondering all the new information.
“So what’s your plan to find Judas and get him out of there?”
The blue haired boy thought for a moment and sighed “i don’t really have one yet plus I’d need to find a way back to the fusion dimension which would be difficult”
“How were you two originally jumping dimensions? Can you re-create it?” Haou asked, as he began to pace around.
“i think there was some Porter in the fusion dimension i think we were using that but like i said they caught judas.” *he glanced at his scarf and gave a small but warm smile “this scarf…It reminds me of him deeply…”
Haou stopped pacing and arm’s length away from Lapis. How many times had he had that same look on his face? Probably too many to count, especially in this life.
“Did he give it to you or something?”
“it used to be his…Before we got separated i was kinda holding on to it..” he looked Like he was tearing up in his eyes slightly
Worry flashed over Haou’s features. Maybe it was because the bluenette looked so much like Mamoru or something else, but whatever it was made him reach out his hand. He gently placed it on Lapis upper arm.
“I’m sorry this happened to you. It sucks getting separated from ones you care about.” He said trying to comfort him.
“the way you say that did you get separated with mamoru?” it was good to have someone who understood how you felt when you missed one who you cared for so dearly
Solemnly he nodded his head, “a couple of times… There were factors I could and couldn’t control. I’m a different person because of it…” It felt weird talking about this, but Haou felt a little pressure lift as he shared.
