Well, that’s not entirely true. He won’t let himself let you touch him. It’s like he’s punishing himself—he always is, in some way or another—for all those things he takes responsibility for; all those reasons he feels himself unworthy of love, all those things he fears make him selfish. It’s Vash at his lowest, his most self-destructive. Vash who doesn’t feel like he should be allowed the comfort you bring him.
