the marine iguana is a large species of semi-aquatic reptile. they are only found in the galapagos islands; their coloration varies largely based on their location on the islands, from solid black to bright blues and pinks. they feed almost entirely on algae; large individuals can dive to feed, while smaller iguanas feed during low tide. females bury their eggs in the soil, leaving them to hatch independently several months later.
