I believe we aren't going to see substantial progress in the fight against child abuse until we start viewing children as people group. More specifically, until we stop viewing children as a parent's property, and start listening to their voices in the same way we'd listen to any oppressed class.

Listen. Adult people with intellectual disabilities can own property. They can still get healthcare if their nurses or assistants deny them healthcare. You're not allowed to spank someone with an ID or slap them if they do something you don't approve of. If they earn money or other assets, it is legally their own. And I think anyone who unironically claims to hate disabled people will be flagged as an ableist.

The fight for disabled rights is far from over. That's not the point I'm making. The point is that it isn't about whether someone's brain is fully developed.

As a system with 2 different headmates who are both mute, one communicates through ASL and has speech apps, the other is mute and only feels comfortable using symbols and Morse code, we didn't even know there was discourse around headmates using these words.

Like why is it bad? I love the activism and everything but I'm personally confused as to why headmates themselves who don't speak or communicate differently then using their voice, why is it so different to singlets who are mute and such?

Their experience doesn't take away anything. They're literally just existing because, for us, the headmates formed as nonverbal/mute due to how their trauma was. Not being able to vocalize something or not having a voice, or being shut down.

Question, for people with quirks and those with screen readers, would it be a good way to create accessibility by having the normal version first, then having a warning the middle that basically reads "Below this is is my typing quirk of what was said above, please exist this page/navigate to the button directly by this warning to be taken to the next page"? Like making it accessible for both people who feel comfortable typing with quirks and those who use screen readers?

Accessible for those that while it might just be an Internet thing, it still makes them happy and let's them enjoy their own usage without harm, and helps screen readers help make their corners more accessible.

I always thought this option was common knowledge, but apparently it's not..? It's especially useful since new users and artists who don't speak english are notoriously inconsistent about tagging, which normally means their posts slip between the cracks with the "filter tags" settings.

Another thing I recently realized you should do is look up the translation of various ship names in other writing systems, since they might not use the english equivalent. Also, remember that depending on character dynamic and "who tops", the order of the names in the shipname gets swapped! So you actually have to block two tags per ship. It's also this really frustrating system, speaking as someone who has had a lot of family in foster care and who has been a foster parent, where if they GAVE the money they pay foster parents to the parents of the children, there wouldn't be a need for removal a substantial portion of the time.
