Yanno, I'm actually really tired of the thing people do when they are unhappy with a work where they state a radical re-interpretation of the text that completely contradicts anything it says or even states something completely made up, and they state it in a way that intentionality frames it as a hard fact and act to everyone as if that's what the text actually says. Just willfully misconstruing the work or intentionally obscuring that this is a headcanon or a divergence from the text bc they're mad about decisions in the original work.
It's especially annoying when the person has clout in a space, and you can FEEL this becoming the established understanding of the work in the fanspace. You can straight up feel people thinking this is Actually True when it isn't, it's just someone who is discontent making things up and trying to convince people it's real.
